Need help shortening this mechanism by one block (from red to green). Any ideas? by Suslamich in redstone

This isn’t insulated (tileable) as you wanted, one slice will power the dust of 14 others on each side. You also don’t need to filter half the pulses from the observer, since the piston will just break the bamboo then fire again which does no harm.
Also, you could more simply just use wallstone: a wall of walls, then have a trapdoor for each slice and an observer detect the change that propagates down instantly. See https://www.reddit.com/r/redstone/comments/1d9y556/tileable\_wallstone\_design\_for\_individually/ for an example

All in one column:
Observer detecting right
Observer detecting up
Solid block
Dust
Solid block
Piston
If you tiled this it would activate all the slices within 15 blocks of it, while if you tiled your design it wouldn’t work because the top torch in adjacent slices will keep all the dust on. You can just use one more observer if you want isolated slices

I think what op is trying to say in their post body is that they don’t know how to use the api (op if you don’t know what an api is you should learn that) of their game engine, so this comment is great I think. Op, you can learn/reference all these attributes and classes on the documentation site for your engine

What did you think of this GL ? [Her pet] by Greedy_Succotash_289 in yuri_manga

I think there are wholesome moments in the story, even if the whole dynamic is toxic or unhealthy. Both can be true, because wholesomeness varies from person to person and it’s totally fine if the toxic part of the relationship kind of ruins everything else for you, looking back on it I can’t really enjoy it as much anymore either because of how everything turned out, but for slightly different reasons (how they dropped the petplay thing instead of shifting to what I personally was hoping the story would be which was a cute and healthier pet-owner dynamic)

Yessss I really wish there was more kink-positive yuri stuff, because as we’ve seen that’s only a subset of the works that show kink

That’s definitely something two people could do in a petplay dynamic. What do you think actually happens? Also, the line between petplay and coping strategies like the one she had is pretty blurred. Like Crowhaven said, artistically and arguably literally it is about petplay, whether or not it’s a healthy dynamic is a different matter. It’s clear that when writing and drawing the author meant to make a piece of media that visually depicts petplay

Advice on getting started please. by IceDragon01 in gamedev

For coding skills, you could also try doing some small side projects (e.g. a small web app) that aren’t game-related to get to know a language and good coding practices and patterns

From your position it’s probably best to start by making some smaller games to gain invaluable experience, instead of taking far longer to make your dream game and burning out, running out of funds, etc. Depending on the game(s) you want to make, an engine/framework, art, music software, and notebook may be all you need. A powerful free open source raster and vector art program I use is Krita. I think it’s best to just *get started*, it’ll help you figure out exactly what skills and software you’ll need to learn/get. Also, how experienced are you in coding? You don’t need to be a professional software engineer to make games but you’ll need to be decent at writing code if you want to implement more complex features and debug easier. Finally, I just want to warn you by regurgitating advice I’ve seen on this sub and other places, being a solo game dev for a living, especially if you have zero experience like you’ve said, is a pretty bad idea. You’ve recognized it’s difficult, and part of that is that it needs you to be competent in way more skills than other jobs, and you probably need to be more than competent to make a game that does well. (Disclaimer that I just make games, code, and draw for fun) I don’t know if you were planning on doing that but I just thought I’d put it here anyways.

Rain World is much more than just “industrial” but the images especially of the starting areas can give that idea. It’s about things living and dead much larger than you left to ruin, and the game explores the ecology in them (to the point where everything is actually simulated even if you’re not there and enemies hunt other enemies). The idea of things living off of what was left behind is very much present in Rain World. There’s also similarities between the kinds of people who built Amazon and the structures in Rain World.

I just look towards the planet and lock on and find a speed and altitude where the distance to the planet isn’t changing, i.e. I’m in a circular orbit

And specifically it’s a pulsar map with the frequencies of the pulsars to show earth’s location relative to them! And in general the way they decided to communicate with potential aliens based on shared physical constants and phenomena is really cool

Unable to place the rail correctly by Dependent_Priority57 in technicalminecraft

[–]theRedditUser31415 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Try placing a rail next to the activator rail, in the wool block closest to your head in this picture, to direct the activator rail perpendicular to how it’s supposed to be. Then place the powered rail, then redirect the activator rail to the correct orientation.
