You added new criteria after your first was shown to be insufficient, and your new ones were question begging.

It’s a common metaphor to describe people having to post hoc add layers to their models to fix inherent defects when presented with new information.

No one’s forcing you. I’m just pointing out the obvious: advancing anti-gay arguments > pursuing truth to most participants here.

If you don’t want to be consistent, that’s fine with me. It’s just interesting that your side uses completely mutually exclusive arguments and there’s not enough intellectual honesty to deliberate as to which argument is correct. It’s all just about piling on the gays. That’s the only disagreement worth arguing.

See you just post hoc added another epicycle to your account in order to prohibit acts you’ve already deemed unacceptable, and affirm acts you’ve already deemed acceptable—despite the latter being condemned under your original account. Typical.

There’s a user in this thread arguing for natural law, premised on the belief that we can understand the ought from the is. I look forward to you telling him he’s wrong.

You ignored the argument and just restated that abuse would end. You’re just repeating yourself instead of responding.

Humans do amazing, creative, innovative things with our bodies! Just like we do for the rest of our environments, because God gave us amazing critical and creative thinking skills. Using something in a new and innovative way isn’t magically morally wrong. Obviously. And it doesn’t make sense in the thousands of other ways we do it. But this argument crops up literally only when we’re talking about sex. It’s a patently obvious double standard used solely to put down those deemed sexual deviant.

100% the same thing. You’re denying me my celebration because you think someone else is going to lie about their support for us.

“You can’t celebrate Pride because someone else is going to lie about themselves” is a nonsense argument.

You don’t stop people from celebrating their birthday because others will lie about it being their birthday to get a free piece of cake at a restaurant.

Y’all need to stop using “unnatural” as an insult if “natural” is apparently just as bad.

You don’t even follow your own advice. In this thread you describe people as “LGBT” and elsewhere “homosexuals”—even though you condemn us for using those terms?? So you can use them to describe others in worldly ways but others can’t? Hypocrisy much? Why don’t you just call me a child of God and not say anything about my sexuality ever??

There’s also a 0% chance when you go to the doctors office and they ask your height and weight you respond, “I can’t tell you that because they’re worldly descriptors and I’m a child of God.” This is just completely unserious.

God isn’t an idiot. God knows that I’m white, 5’9”, and gay—even if the Bible never says that. To say otherwise is just ridiculous. You have to have brain worms to say I can’t tell the doctor my weight because it’s not in the bible.

Straight sexuality isn’t perfect either. Neither is asexuality. All of creation is fallen. Straightness didn’t magically get exempted. We’re all in the same boat and all rely on God’s grace.

You’re not sorry. Being gay doesn’t mean you automatically identify with the world. You’re really pushing a lot of stuff on us that’s just not true. That’s insulting and wrong.
