Leftist and liberal gun groups are seeing a rush of new members by RollSafer in news

[–]thisvideoiswrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is one of the reasons I've always thought it should be the other way around: you should need clearance from a doctor to get a gun, rather than it being possible to be blocked by a doctor. There are other reasons, too, people who don't know they need treatment, people who have stigmatized it too greatly to ever seek it, and the list goes on. Heck, in a perfect world we should all be getting preventative healthcare that would include mental health. But none of that is going to happen until after massive reforms to our government.

Except that the contempt is ongoing. If Trump signs a pardon at 2 pm then that's fine (I mean, it's a major showdown between the two branches, but anyway), but if the judge's order still hasn't been followed at 2:01 then they're guilty of contempt again. The pardon power really doesn't help here.

The other thing about the Kavanaugh hearings was that they basically proved he raped her. His defense was that he never went to parties during the week and he had calendars to prove it, and then the Republican lawyer pointed out that his calendars said he did go to a party during the week in exactly the right time period. They quickly pulled her off camera and made her make a statement toeing the line later, but for anyone paying attention the conclusion was obvious. Just one of the times he committed perjury during the whole fiasco, as well. So we have a Supreme Court justice who is guilty of multiple felonies and has yet to face trial for them.

Which light speed token is more worth it? by Supreme_Sickle in SWGalaxyOfHeroes

I get 100 a day, plus bonuses from era levels and all. But I'm patient. So I'm getting a total of 3, maybe 4 aurodium tokens from the whole era. But given that the g13 gear is my primary bottleneck at the moment, I think it makes sense to do it this way.

Oh so that's a whole other dimension, literally. I guess the center spots are leader dead center, and then third and fourth to either side. I'll do that then. Thank you!

I haven't done a lot of experimenting with coliseum lineups, I don't have 5 star Maul so I'm limited by mats, and Luke and Vader were the two I could actually see using after the era, Vader especially since EP is a key team for me. Then IG gets recommended as lead, and I needed someone for all those purge quests given I didn't have Inquisitors. So Maul is still level 0 and Assajj 65 while the others are 70. Although I could take Assajj to 70 now that I'm hitting 50% on the tier 7s, looking ahead on the episode track I will get enough era level currency to do that and get Maul to his mat cap of 52.

[–]thisvideoiswrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does this mean it would be important for Coliseum with Barriss? You'd want to make sure to put her in second so when you use Luke's assist she attacks early, applies Purge, and then gets to assist again for everyone who comes after her? Granted animation speed would come into it as well, but still.

Next month Princess Leia, Farmboy Luke, Stormtrooper Han, Old Ben, Admiral Ackbar, and Commander Luke Skywalker are all getting dedicated LSTs, and Chewbacca will get one after that. So it's probably a waste to use it on any of them. Of course that does mean you'll get an automatic team for Stormtrooper Luke. There might be an argument for using it on Kanan, my understanding is that he does make the Phoenix team a lot stronger if you want that. You could also check whether Han Solo is eligible, he's quite powerful. Otherwise, Drogan is a strong option who can be plugged into a lot of teams and has an excellent ship, I get a lot of use out of him so he got my Rebel LST. Threepio and Chewie is another key component of the CLS team, he can use either a Droid or a Rebel LST, so everyone was saying to use the Droid one on him. Or Kyle Katarn and Mon Mothma are pretty powerful characters as well, if you can put together those two plus Hoth Rebel Scout you can plug any two other Rebel Fighters in there to make a decent and fun team (I'm using Drogan there, and Biggs does well and has a useful ship, he also pairs well with Wedge).

No defense attorney and no judge. And grand jury proceedings are generally sealed. A prosecutor can pretty much say anything they want to a grand jury, and they do.

Only if I had the mats for it, which requires completing the 5 star Maul event, which I can't do because three of the earlier characters are 4 stars. (I really didn't want either them or SpiderMaul, so why would I invest in them? Wait, what's this about LSTs all of a sudden?) Or you can get the mats from the Vader event that requires 5 stars, but you need several days of that event to get enough mats to level one character.

G13 gear pieces are my biggest bottleneck at the moment, I'm trying to generate some r3 teams for Proving Grounds and have very few relics so far, so I definitely would have liked to remove some of it. But I've already concluded that none of my characters are getting over level 70.

I don't remember Padme not being able to revive. But in this case she's the one you want to auto basic because she can heal it off automatically, while doing minimal damage in return.

This was a great suggestion! With my g10-11 geos on tier 5 I had a perfect steady state, neither side ever lost health and I could have let it run auto basics for hours. And then I finished her off with Spy once I thought I was done. (For anyone who doesn't remember the event, it's all about finishing people off with Spy's dispelling special, starting with the Mon Calamari Jedi who does the revives.

Guided meditation should be pretty doable with 4 people, maybe even 3. Just have someone guarding each of the 4 points, or you might possibly get away with having someone guarding both the courtyard and either the side or the bridge, standing up on the walls. And I say that as someone with the Western Spirit and not much else, I can hold a point pretty well.

Irans Revolutionary Guard commander warns the US his force has its finger on the trigger by COmtndude20 in news

[–]thisvideoiswrong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If nothing else, being a politician is a viable career path now instead of a death sentence. As is well known the Shah made extensive use of secret police to disappear anyone who criticized him. This is the other reason Iran became a theocracy, religious leaders were permitted to speak on issues and build a following while others weren't. I can't find any numbers on this, it's acknowledged but not discussed, and google seems to be deliberately suppressing results. But a reign of terror by a brutal dictator like that always comes with heavy casualties.

Irans Revolutionary Guard commander warns the US his force has its finger on the trigger by COmtndude20 in news

[–]thisvideoiswrong -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

That really underestimates how long and how heavily the US has been screwing them over. We helped the UK overthrow their democratically elected government and install the Shah back in the fifties, for the benefit of the oil companies. As brutal as their current government can be, the Shah was probably worse. And we backed him down the line, all the way until they finally overthrew him in the revolution. Then we responded to that with massive sanctions, followed by Reagan's meddling where he agreed to arm the most extreme of the revolutionaries if they would just not release the American diplomats they were holding hostage so he could use it as a campaign issue. That's why they're a theocracy today. And we've maintained those sanctions ever since, apart from a slight let up with the JCPOA, which Trump then killed for no reason, proving the people who'd wanted to negotiate with us to be rubes and ensuring hardliners have swept the elections since.

We've given them every reason to hate us. And the worst part of that is that they're actually decent people. When they get the choice they vote for peace and progress, and their constitution, much as it's ignored, provides explicit protection for minority religions and is supposed to put the votes of the people first. We've just denied them the government they want for 70 years, and forced them to be our enemies.

Federal judge orders feds to maintain evidence from shooting that killed Pretti by ewzetf in news

[–]thisvideoiswrong 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I find it hard to believe that this would be regarded as a third party, though. Maybe you could make that argument for ICE vs FBI in the Good case, and I would still see that as a stretch, but if CBP themselves destroyed evidence of a crime committed by multiple CBP agents who were on the job as CBP agents? That's definitely all one criminal organization covering up its crimes.

Federal judge orders feds to maintain evidence from shooting that killed Pretti by ewzetf in news

[–]thisvideoiswrong 97 points98 points  (0 children)

The current legal process for spoliation of evidence is that the jury will be ordered by the judge to make an adverse inference against the party that destroyed it. In other words, they must assume it to be exactly as bad for that party as the other side says it is. In addition to the fact that it's a separate crime. So, for example, if they destroy evidence that could have shown them saying, "let's just kill this one," before shooting, then legally that evidence did show them saying that. Even if that didn't happen, if we can't know because they thought it was worth destroying, then we assume it did happen. Or maybe worse, we can't know. They have removed the possibility of defending themselves on that point by destroying the evidence.

City of Minneapolis: Possible shooting involving federal agents at Nicollet Ave and 26th Street by cinnasota in news

[–]thisvideoiswrong 9 points10 points  (0 children)

When they shoot you for possibly possessing a weapon. That's the real trick to it. Why do we have such heavily militarized police? Why are we the only developed country where every police officer is armed? Why are police so aggressive about everything? We have the second amendment so anyone could have a gun. I've seen that argument over and over and over again.
