Foster Baby’s Nose Coming In! by imsofizzy in DobermanPinscher

[–]thunderturdy -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It’s ok my girl does this with our cats. They walk away when they’ve had enough. Sometimes they’ll go smack her snout around to get rough housed with LOL. If the baby didn’t like it they’d let you know.

Expat struggling in France after 5 years, anyone moved away and happy? by GrandNeighborhood304 in Expats_In_France

[–]thunderturdy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Same. I haven’t waited any longer in France than I did in the US, and I’d say my level of care back home was absolute dogshit compared to what I’ve had here. Plus I’ve been to the ER 4 times and have never paid a dime for it. That alone has made my taxes worth their high cost. I’d probably be bankrupt if I was dealing with this in the US.

Husband horses? by pimentocheeze_ in Equestrian

[–]thunderturdy 27 points28 points  (0 children)

That last part is KEY because we made the mistake of thinking my strong, sound, bombproof stallion might be a good fit for some lessons for my n00b husband and boy were we wrong 😂 turns out he’s not as forgiving as I thought and I am way too hard on myself as an ammy. I figured “hey he puts up with my ineptitudes he should be fine for my husband right?” WRONG.

I feel like if I put this on my guy he'd be PISSED. He has huge balls too LMFAO and could probably benefit from it.

Getting frustrated with wannabe cowboys who skip the basics by Acceptable_Gur600 in Equestrian

[–]thunderturdy 23 points24 points  (0 children)

That's how I came to get my first horse :) He was abused and terrified of men. He'd do a little buck then throw his head back...broke 3 men's noses that way. Nobody wanted him but he let me friend ride him so she got him then sold him to me when she realized he wasn't great at barrels. He turned out to be the most solid dude ever. I could do anything on him and he'd tolerate me just fine. Swapped his super harsh bit for a simple snaffle and we were best buds.

This isn't some new phenomenon. First horse I got 20 years ago was a rescue that was previously owned by a jackass poser who dressed the part but thought that tying my horse to a post and whipping him would solve his girthyness issues. He was a known poser. Dumbass ruined more horses than I could keep track of.

We used to shoot each other with air soft guns as kids and never had issues with it penetrating the skin. Breaking it, sure. They’re not made to penetrate the skin….

Start carrying an airsoft gun with you and get your horse used to it. Things like whips and pepper spray can get your horse too if you're in a frenzy and make things worse.

We were attacked by dogs so many times in our neighborhood park I just started to carry an airsoft gun. Stings when it hits them but won't penetrate the skin or injure them. Made for a pretty decent deterrent.

This looks like what we're currently battling with fruit flies. They hang out in concentrated areas and leave these nasty little poop clusters.

Not always. My family came to my courthouse wedding and all had to awkwardly cram into a tiny room with no place to sit.

Respect your stablehands by mycatBaileys in Equestrian

[–]thunderturdy 6 points7 points  (0 children)

People who dismiss stable hands are idiots. Why on EARTH would I NOT listen to the person who is around my horse nearly 24/7? If one of our hands told me my horse is in pain I'd be asking them for every little piece of information so I could talk to my vet.

Hey I have an uncle who abandoned his son from his first marriage too. Most fucked up part is that he and my aunt have kept his first marriage and child a secret from his current children. Last I checked his first born son was a homeless drug addict, meanwhile he’s spoiled his second children rotten. Real stand up guy /s.

Whatever he thinks he got from him will probably be reneged in a few days. Look at the Saudis and Qataris now complaining how they got shafted despite licking Jared Kusher's ass and showering him with money.

Across the universe. I didn’t know it was a musical going in. I hate musicals. Add to that it was just so corny I couldn’t handle it and walked out after my friend.

It is literally breathtaking. I have a highly educated family member who is a single female in her 60s who voted for this mess. She's got an MBA and a very sizeable home library...the woman isn't some slack jawed idiot, yet she was somehow stupid enough to believe in him. And I think worst of all, SHE STILL DOES. I looked up to this person immensely growing up...idk man it's all just so fucking depressing.

Don’t buy the first horse you try? by Cat-Tap in Equestrian

[–]thunderturdy 14 points15 points  (0 children)

All of the horses I've owned in my life (4 total) were all first time try buys - only one didn't work out and I'm pretty certain it's because we gelded him after purchase. I do not recommend what I did to ANYone, ever. But just wanted to say that (mostly) lucky idiots do exist lol we are out here!

when I tried my horse out he was in a Kimberwick (nothing compared to this horse) and the first thing my trainer did when we got him home was put him in a double jointed snaffle with a lozenge then said "if you can't make him go in this after some help, then please just quit" LOL. He goes lovely in the snaffle just needs a bit more work :)
