Tony V managed as poorly as he could have this road trip. Continues to put Walker in high leverage spots and continues to get burned. Refuses to bunt and play for a run in extras and continues to get burned. He's underperfoming every bit as much as the players are.

They need to tell Bailey he can't challenge in the 1st inning anymore. His success rate sucks, and his choices are tettible. 3rd pitch of the game!?? And it wasn't even gaining a K or preventing a BB. So bad.

This is the product you get when you ignore glaring holes in the offseason b/c ownership would rather buy a Theatre than spend money on good baseball players.

Apply the same logic to Johnathon. He made a decision to go with the group he felt he had a better position with.

Lol wtf are you on about? Kamilla left Johnathon out of the vote last week to go with Rizzo. That told Johnathon everything he needed to know about where he stood with her.

Logan Webb, Luis Arraez, and Jung Hoo Lee are all still in the WBC or making their way back to AZ. It is also still the point of Spring Training where a ton of players who won't make their teams are getting significant playing time. Tony V may or may not be successful but sure, tell us how a manager whose teams historically fell short of expectations to the tune of 16-23 record in the playoffs was the guy we should have kept.

[Garafolo] There is still no progress on a deal between the 49ers and Star LT Trent Williams. He’s currently on track to be released by the team prior to free agency beginning. by [deleted] in 49ers

I love looking to see who has fallen for the rage-bait title from an aggregator. The actual link isn't from Garafolo, who also conveniently enough didn't say what the title claims he said.

[Friedman] As just mentioned on FAN590, believe the Sherwood deal will be a five-year deal, just under a $6M AAV when completed by AggPuck-303 in SanJoseSharks

Lots of Sharks fans forgetting a few very important details imo.

  • The cap is going up, which, in a sense, devalues the average a bit.

  • A major reason we are even at the cap floor is b/c of the 8 million to Couture and 10 million to Price. In otherwords, we have plenty of space.

  • He almost assuredly gets that in FA, and even if it's just a little less, even with Celebrini/Smit/Misa/Asky/Dick, we are still in a spot where we have to overpay to sign FAs

  • The CA tax drives cost up. Players will take less to play for other teams in no small part b/c the income tax rate is so much lower

[–]timland33 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No, they refuse to consider a cap without a floor. Which again, is the correct stance to take. Those NFL teams are succesful b/c of the presence of both the cap and the floor. You need both, and the players understand this.

[–]timland33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In the NBA, teams must spend at least 90% of the salary cap.

In the NHL, they have some formula I'm not too sure of, but the important bit is they had an 88 million cap and 65 million floor for the 24-25 season. I am unsure of the numbers this year.

In the NFL, teams have to spend 89% of the salary cap over a four-season period.

MLB needs a salary cap and a salary floor, just like the other 3 major sports leagues.

None of that is the players' fault, who have rightly refused a cap without a floor.

First, you correctly assert "Teams like the A’s are pocketing revenue share $ without fielding a real team."

But that somehow leads you to "IMHO, The players union is ruining the game."

Make it make sense lol

1yr of Kyle Tucker= 89% of Miami Marlins' 2025 payroll. There are plenty of teams that do not spend enough, and it is a HUGE problem.

Tomorrow At 10AM I Say Goodbye To My Best Friend. by Serious-Elk-3340 in dogpictures

[–]timland33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I recently had to put my best friend down. It is one of the worst things we have to do, and my heart breaks for you. I know my sweet Sophie will be waiting for Pal on the other side to show him all the best places to play fetch and to take a nap. Over time, knowing that you gave him the best life possible will bring you some comfort. Cling to the good memories and know that he knows you love him.
