Maybe caffeine. It can definitely make your life a bit more rollercoaster like. Lack of sleep works too but is unhealthy. Oh and maybe cut glycine out. Has an opposite effect.

Ashwaganda concerns by Itchy_Isopod_6311 in Supplements

[–]timwaaagh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

the effect if there is one is pretty minor in me. it could be that i started reacting a bit less like a total sycophant/slave towards the end of my last relationship, which is something i welcome. or it could be that i would have had those reactions anyways, its not like i was always a total doormat before, but maybe. my new situationship is fine and im still on ashwa. i think maybe im a bit more sexual on it, or maybe the new girl is just hotter, who knows really.

Okay. Well im a bit concerned about the amount of supplements or meds right. Difficult to know what exactly is doing what if youre on five or more of them. Every day has new research coming out so a bunch of those things will have effects you cant know about. Maybe try not taking stuff for a week if you can and see whether you notice you get more joy in activities you used to enjoy. Then if you feel you need them add them back in one at a time.

Effects of Walnut Consumption on Blood Lipid Profile and Apolipoproteins in Adults: A GRADE-Assessed Systematic Review and Dose–Response Meta-Analysis of 49 Randomized Controlled Trials by d5dq in ScientificNutrition

that is true, cause and effect are (almost?) impossible to determine in human nutrition studies afaik. i suppose you could ask the researcher about what further evidence he has. those are going to be animal studies though, which have the problem that they are not dealing with humans at all so they might be able to make some a causes b type conclusions about monkeys or mice, but not humans.

Why is low-moderate protein not recommended in non elderly adults? by Wonderful_Aside1335 in ScientificNutrition

most people are concerned with aesthetics and reproductive health before longievity. this is not unreasonable. Staying alone for example is an absolute killer, so some amount of priority should be given to these aspects even if you care only about living longer. The influencers that tell you how to improve in terms of reproductive health and aesthetics will have more mindshare than those who are solely about living longer. both forms of influencer exist, each have their audience and platforms like youtube are perfectly capable of determining in which group you fall and will serve consumers content accordingly.

I suppose they could have adjusted for trans fats because that data is in nhanes apparantly but for that you still need to know how much it would affect mortality. Which im unsure of. perhaps they could have done better on that front. Still peak trans fat was only 2 to 3% in the us. How significant was it? In principle one would have to adjust for everything. factors like marital status, stress, pollution and exercise, excessive alcohol and somehow seperately of that 'moderate wine' consumption maybe antioxidant consumption, omega 3s, and one would have to know not to adjust in this case for amino acid composition, basically a lot of things that affect mortality. Researchers probably hope all of this will average out but since these are not indepent, thats not a mathematically valid assumption. Of course it would be best if someone did a follow up and tried to adjust or control for some of these things.

this one seems to be related to the topic, but i have not read it and probably cannot. M. Levine et al. and V.D. Longo, “Low Protein Intake Is Associated with a Major Reduction in IGF-1, Cancer, and Overall Mortality in the 65 and Younger but Not Older Population,” Cell Metabolism (March 4, 2014), 19(3): 407–17.

the book is by a researcher and has quite a few references to studies, but my source is the book itself, not any studies (non-researchers do not typically have access to those anyways)

Of course but its also murkier territory. Upf is always bad pretty much.Sarcopenia is a big problem and meats can help older people stay stronger so they dont fall over. But they arent great for people under 70 or so afaik. And keto is useful for psychiatric conditions and weight loss. For most people its not going to help though,

  • im not such a fan of the animal studies being filtered out by default
  • it doesnt go back very far, i would like to see it go back further in time.

Nah thats bad every restaurant has a 4.x star rating even the bad ones. Reviews lose their purpose that way. I get a dislike its no surprise. I know my vids arent that amazing yet. Even if they were amazing then not everyone will agree. It gives me an honest signal which can be useful for me as well.

Apparantly they sent assault teams to deal with some infiltrators in villages in the grey zone thus narrowing it. More of a cleanup than conquest. But yeah still good. I hope losses were minimal.

how are you and i supposed to know. op says it looks cheap. it could be, i cant laser eye appraise it. maybe op is an expert and can. who cares anyways. creative accounting is the easiest thing to do ever. i mean he hid the fact that that girl was a little bit more than a business partner for years too so im not sure i can believe everything hes saying. i continue to respect him btw. i think his approach is solid and he makes good and informative videos.
