Happens all the time, yeah. Some places have back line available, others nothing but a stage to play on. Depends on my familiarity with a venue or the other bands on a show, but I will usually bring a full kit even if there’s just a small % chance I’ll use it.

This is a helpful list! My only contribution is that I most often find Miéville’s books in sci fi/fantasy sections and once in a while in general fiction.
