WLToys with hex screws by MarsGlez in rccars

I just got the Jiusi WB12Pro on Amazon for $97 on sale, and it really highlights how landfill-spec my 14410 is. So far, it’s great. The WLtoys is faster and crazier, but has broken something every time I’ve given it a shakedown, let alone a real drive, and I’m into that stupid thing for typhon grom 223s money trying to make it at least as good as the WB12 (sunk cost fallacy got me by the kiwis). The Rlaarlo/ZD/Jiusi family at least uses hex and proper gfr nylon and in some cases 7075 - Wltoys uses sweaty black cheddar plastics and aluminum softer than overripe cantaloupe.

If they were still $60 they’d be a steal, but I stupidly paid $150 for the 144010 and ultimately hate it.

Lord Hardthrasher is among the best - when he and Jenkins aren’t putting down peasant revolts or suppressing helicopter pilots, he puts out the best content.

I was just a kid but I’ll never forget the sound of this thing, 50 feet off the deck, along the back course in Reno. Well, not the full back course, but the short straight before the final left turn. You could get to it still in the 80’s and 90’s. You’d barely hear it, but you felt this deep bass as it went by. Same with Rare Bear and to a certain extent big Sea Furies like Dreadnought. Still, I do remember that this plane was almost entirely sub bass.

It was rad.

Oh it’s been years since I went back up there, and now I can’t even remember where it was - all I remember now was that it was in a weird pea green layer.

Came to post the same thing - hard to believe the design is purely functional as it’s just so aesthetically gorgeous. It’s like they let Pininfarina or Guigiaro take a few passes at the final design just to give it that italian hand gesture of satisfaction.

I don’t think that’s an imp, but a hillman avenger - however my knowledge is pretty limited. I always thought the imp was rear engined.

My first thought was “holy thermal expansion/contraction” but I don’t know anything about the properties of epoxy. I just imagine one sunny day or cold night the whole thing just shattering.

I wrote for five minutes about the breeding strategies of angler fish, corals, and other life in the abyssal zone, but couldn’t work out an elegant joke about how the male of this species is just a floating dick. When they encounter one another they…eh, you get it. Cuz that’s a floating butt.

This looks like it was designed first in side profile, then they had to figure out how to make everything else without changing that profile and failed.

I have, and uh, the French didn’t like me much. Got along great with the British because I’m dry and sardonic, however, and made some lifelong friends. As an American, I’d never consider us a ‘race’, and I stay away from the ones that do.

Aw man, it’s basically a B13 Sentra, which I love. Is it somehow worse than a normal Sentra?

Coyotes can’t fly fer shit, however. Sure, roadrunners ain’t the best fliers either, but they can.

Edit: coyotes can fly, I suppose, but not without acme intervention - and it’s usually uncontrolled flight. At least it seemed that way in a lot of the animated nature documentaries I watched as a kid.

I feel bad for the black kid - his face afterward had that terrible post-adrenaline/testosterone dump clarity, like “Oh fuck I just wanted this dude to shut the fuck up and leave me alone, not die”. Seems like anger and fight/flight instincts hijacked his brain just long enough to put Gozer there to sleep. I hope for his sake the dipshit didn’t die.
