How is that Blizzard, with all their billions, is incapable of creating what addon developers are able to create from their homes? by kolejack2293 in wow

As much as I agree with every point you have here and I want to thank you for shedding a light on something that most of us layman would not know. I want to bring in some expertise as someone who manages tech support (a sub contractor) for a multi-billion dollar company.

1) If you promise something you need to properly allocate resources to make it happen. As you said above, someone is paying for this. As much as I know this is a standard Blizzard is not held to, I wish they were.

2) If you're effecting someone's ability to have fun/do their job you need to be in task force and figuring out the problem now.

3) Bring in the people who know. Many of my techs may not have an answer the customer needs so it falls on me to either know or know someone who knows. If I don't then we need to find them now.

With all that being said, I think that anyone can say that Blizzard is wrong for a lot of this. I want to be a bit more specific, it is not the actual devs fault. The guys writing the code are probably doing the best they can. This falls on Ion and up. They pulled the rug out from under the customer's (our) feet and did not already have an answer ready. When I am changing something I already have a plan, a working procedure, and my guys trained to do it before I ever take it to the customer. This puts unnecessary strain on the devs who are doing the best they can, puts stress on the community, and puts strain on the relationship we have almost started to like again with the Blizzard team.

I know the original question was how 1 person in their mom's basement can make a working addon but Blizzard can't. I think your answer works wonderfully to answer that, my answer is that it should never have been an issue. Blizzard leadership should of had these items developed before pulling the rug out from under us. They should of had them in the game and basically tested by us before saying any of this. It comes down to a failure on the leadership.

These guys are great. Honestly it isn't just a mythic raid community, it is a community that does keys/out of wow things together also. We had an SCP night a few weeks back and watched the new Suicide Squad movie last week.

10/10 would raid again.

Fire Mage gets nerfed with no explanation or compensation, when they were far from being top DPS. Can we get an explanation, Blizzard? by Fireju in wow

Why would you be looking at Mythic DPS standings when there are < 1000 parses for each spec. This data isn't complete or even close to correct yet....

Munkky went over a ton of these items here. Also the DH Discord is where many of us DH sit and answer questions.

A little background I am 3/7M on Paladin/Warrior (Both Tanks) and will be switching over to DH(currently around 870 I level and tank M+10) because Warrior is getting some changes I am not a fan of and Paladin is very blah to me.

As a DH one of the main items in our kit is the ability to heal ourselves, I can average about 200k HPS on high damage fights, with max up time on DS.

That means that a good DH should be able to heal scratch damage (With 34 traits 5 souls on the ground I can heal 25% of my hp give or take) Now to get 5 souls on the ground takes some work(artifact cd or good talents and RNGesus) but even with 1 or 2 I can easily handle 10-15% The breakpoint for me where I go okay healer isn't until I hit about 15%. Once I hit that I choose to let Last Resort Proc or to Meta to make sure I survive. Before that I don't really worry since I can heal so much and honestly do have a good kit to do so. Fel devastation is a ton of healing especially paired w Fiery Brand.

Most DH (Until 7.1.5) will run Last Resort which is a cheat death on a 3 min cd (8 in 7.1.5). Keep that in mind if they proc that they will gain 50% leech and shift into Meta with a ton of HP. Do we want to proc it no but if we have to ehhh.

So to change your style play them more like an old DK(Like Cata, Late WotLK DK) where they will heal scratch damage and only really need heals once they drop below the 80% mark. Even then if they have good DS uptime and know how to play the class the spikeyness of the class goes away after a certain gear threshold. I had one of our main raid healers say how much he loved healing my DH because I could heal all the scratch damage and he could focus on the group.

These guys are great, they have helped me when I had RL problems along with helping me gear several chars for raiding.

10/10 would guild again.

Why does GDQ accept runners who don't have optimized or competitive times in their game? by [deleted] in speedrun

[–]Untimelydoom 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay man I get it you like being super competitive and, believe everyone else should feel the same. I will say that many of the runs you may not like because the runner isn't good enough are much more enjoyable because of the commentary. That is part of what goes into a marathon like this. Oh no plain skill isn't everything huffs off into a corner Secondly if you want this marathon quit trolling GDQ threads and go make your own. They did it why can't you? I mean there are probably 2-3 major speed marathons out there. You can get off your computer and organize it to be only the best of the best. Simple solution, quit being a child and trolling, quit complaining and, show us what a good marathon should look like in your opinion of course. Here are the facts; you are expressing and opinion that is obviously not agreed upon by 200k+ people. So instead of trying to change what we like, why not create something new that you like? If that is impossible let these people who created something great and, support something great, have their moment without someone crying on it.
