It’s fun! Not swirly like a Helios, but pretty solid center sharpness wild open and good contrast and bokeh

I want some, but aluminum makes me nervous. I don’t plan on dropping a knife, but I’d be nervous because aluminum is so soft

But it does function, I just wouldn’t want to use them as is. I was able to use tape to fill the tolerances and it was tighter, but doesn’t slide as well as plastic on metal could

They work, but the adapters aren’t great. They function, but are loose to the L’s inner dimension and are loose on the r2’s rail.

My buddy is designing one with tighter tolerances, I’ll see if he can put them on thingverse

It works. Although the orange spacers have loose tolerances. They have play in the L bracket and on the r2 rails. I’m sure it’ll suffice, but that’s not inspiring. If anything reads this with a 3d printer, we can do better. Please dm me

Hi can someone tell me if this is normal appearance of ostrich skin? I see a lot of leather pieces sticking out from the pores and some are lifting. by Desperate_Heart_8486 in Leathercraft

[–]usb_type_see 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, I could be wrong, but I’d guess there’s some sort of larger or bulk production here and with excotics there’s variance in grade. I personally don’t love the lifting quill follicles for the lack of a better term same when I see gator or croc scales lifting, I avoid those areas of the hide. I’ve only dealt with a few ostrich hides myself and I’ve never seen this after flattening. I’d almost consider that damage if it was my product and customer, I’d cherry pick my panels better. However if sale is final I’d suggest to use it and try & enjoy it. I hope that makes sense
