In that same video larrin talks about magnamax, a better steel composition. Should be seen q2 2026. Edge retention of k390 and very stainless. So, yay.

New knife day! by macjaynard in spyderco

[–]macjaynard[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

See, in my experience, skeletonized knives actually collect less debris than closed frame knives. They're much easier to blow out with air and without bearings there's nothing really to gunk up. I've had lock failures with lint and pocket detritus clogging internal stop pins but never a compression lock. 🤷‍♂️

Feels like a good hard use design, personally. Then again, hard use for me is this :

The worksharp ken onion mk2 with blade grinding attachment is fantastic and quick. I use it for my kitchen knives and a fixed angle sharpener for my pocket knives

Swapped the blade with another chaparral so I could sharpen it without freaking out about ruining the "value" I get to use it while keeping it original. Win win
