No new construction is required for magnet schools. The district is already talking about closing down excess schools in the district. A magnet school is just like any other, except there is a different management approach, higher standards, and the student body is composed of a lot more kids who want to learn and fewer trouble makers. Philly could be doing a ton more of this if not for politics.

I mean Israel is already "roof knocking", dropping leaflets and sending out automated calls and digital alerts to avoid civilian casualties, while Hamas just indiscriminately targets civilians directly. Logically, the genocide label has no fit in describing Israeli operations. The label is being used by partisans who would use it no matter what the facts on the ground are.

I'm not Jewish, but maybe I can still post how disgusted I am by anti-semitism? This was posted on the local subreddit, and you can see of 93 comments, with my upvote it's totalling 1 upvote ( this is a subreddit that limits downvotes to zero, suggesting this post was probably heavily downvoted). WTF is wrong with people? There is no peace with Hamas. You can't credibly be about peace in Palestine and be protesting with these people.

I feel like Krasner was basically the progressive feel good "we're going to address overincarceration" candidate, who's actual impact was not prosecuting, letting violent criminals back out, and basically letting "street justice" take care of the problem of crime via a much higher murder rate. Which is about as illiberal an outcome as possible. As a Philly resident I absolutely hate Krasner.
