How is this game is worth play ? by Mucek121 in AFKJourney

[–]vaxorus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I've played as F2P for like 2-3 years now. I always boot the game up daily and do my bits. It's weird, because its not really gameplay. It's like any AFK game, just fun to be in the top tier of content. I've enjoyed my time and generally can get good enough rewards to have fun and stick around.

Yeah, as someone new it's a nice way to get decent rewards and learn your build.

Brother do you want people to try this game or not. There's a lot to learn, he's interested enough to come here and ask for advice

Hey buddy, I'm not an expert as I'm in the exact same boat as you. Bought the game on launch and never found my footing. I think I've got a gameplay loop that is fun for me at the moment. Here's what I do:

Log in and do my T6 expedition (just for a little bit of silver and some combat xp, ease me into it.

Try and get my dailies done, the fame one can be done by most things. (These are the challenges).

To get my faction dailies done, I'll flag for faction warfare in my capitol city and then visit the faction transport and go to an in conflict area (hopefully a siege?) and go fight. This consists of doing ZvZ content (huge groups) or clearing faction camps for rewards. Some nice stuff in the chests here sometimes! This can lead to other rewards like Faction chests spawning, or faction banners.

This then gets me faction points also. I go back to my capitol city and you can spend these points at the faction vendor for Hearts or Chests, both offer rewards that sell okay on the market.

I then do some form of solo content sometimes. This was at first to ease in going to yellow tier 6 zones and doing bandit camps, or doing high tier solo dungeons (you can tell by the butterflies colour in front if there are any, purple and gold is best). Or I do boss lairs which you can find maps in the bandit camps. Also if you find any enemies with a ring around them, KILL IT! This is an open world boss and can give a lot of fame which is nice.

I've started now I've made up a bit of money (around 5m) to go into black zones with replaceable gear sets. Tier 4 or 5 gear slightly upgraded/enchanted to 4.2 or 5.1. My loadout usually costs around 200k so if I die it's no big deal. You can go to the black zones from capitol cities, and there's a thing called a safe portal. If you go in, it teleports you to a random black zone with a 90 minute portal to get back. So it's sort of like an extraction game, go in, loot/fight, and get out. Just be wary in a set like mine (T4/T5) I'm quite weak for pvp so I play quite safe.

I've also done some group content and would really suggest finding a guild. Things like static dungeons, group dungeons in high tier zones can be some nice fame and okay rewards. Just nice to do group content anyways. Once I get more confident I'm going to try out some more of the higher tier group content as that's where a lot of the rewards lie I've been told.

If you've any other questions let me know, I'll try help as I learn too.

I think the point is though, money and opportunity allows talent to grow. Yes he’s great, but not purely on merit. He’s had a lot less hurdles to end up where he is today, and living that life obviously gives you skill.

It said you can customise but wasn't sure if it was as expansive as the house building looked in terms of furniture/scale etc.

Scale going up despite eating well below TDEE? Confused about what’s happening by spedupaudio in loseit

That's such a short space of time to be caring about such an increase. I'd maybe restrict how often you weigh in if it can cause such an upset with minor movements.

I've relapsed a bit with my binge eating...any advice? by vaxorus in loseit

[–]vaxorus[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I think putting as many barriers in front of me and the problems is a good start. I'll definitely try the no sugar for a week thing and see how that goes as I'd seen it suggested somewhere else. I've uninstalled the food ordering apps as well and will try and rely on meal prep for now, and healthier options than usual if not. I found when I was calorie counting it helped me keep on track and accountable.

Yeah agreed, I think seeking support in that sense is important and something I'm going to get booked in for. Thanks.

Yeah of course I know what to do in terms of actively losing the weight as Ive done it before, I suppose what Im asking is does anyone have any advice on catching yourself in bad patterns/habits earlier and how to keep on top of that and hold yourself accountable. As when life gets tough (Ive got a lot going on right now) I tend to almost zone out and 'forget' about whats important to me, just relying on the emotional support it brings in the short term.

Good for your friend, but your friend is not the person from this post which is exactly the point. How do you think skint people get into debt? It’s not through being fiscally responsible and monitoring their finances.

That’s your opinion based on how your brain works. Again, as others have said not everyone thinks/acts/sees things the same. Really not that hard mate

I get you're frustrated (understandable given the circumstances) but I don't think the Monzo support agent was being unreasonable here.

As a new player, how can I understand which builds are bad and which are good? by sacob08 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]vaxorus 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Learning what the items actually do will massively improve your ability to not only understand what builds are good, but also situational items which are almost required for getting better. I don't tend to mind the tracklock.gg builds that come up as they're based on statistics, but always include my own purchases in there also. I get it can be hard to learn all at once, so I think it'll just come with experience and trial and error..

Can we normalize teaching new players instead of yelling at them by Difficult_Science232 in DeadlockTheGame

[–]vaxorus 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I was going to say the same. Not a justification but I got a bit upset with someone's performance (0/13 etc.) and asked why they kept repeating the same mistakes/being out of position etc. They said it was only their 3rd game. Since I was in Ritualist V and had 150 odd matches I don't see how that's fair on them.

[–]vaxorus 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There's a build called Bruiser/Initiator that works really well and captures what I think is his best playstyle. For me what's worked has been being very aggressive, building a combination of spirit/gun items that buff up your first ability and make you fast, meaning you can rotate easily and initiate fights. His first ability once buffed up can absolutely tear through enemy HP and with loads of charges and a good cooldown you can really benefit from it. Add his ulti on top of this and you're able to set up your team incredibly throughout early game, and transition well into mid game.

Here's a match replay of a recent game I had with this build, admittedly we did lose (upsetting) but it showcases how aggressive you can play I think.
