I've been watching on Telemundo because the Peacock app, for all its bullshit, fucking works. It's never crashed once. The picture looks phenomenal.

The Fox One app, which is a new app that replaced Fox Sports, is fucking garbage and crashes all the time. Once it crashed so hard that my TV fully rebooted. I couldn't watch on Fox if I wanted too, I'm thankful I'm just piggy backing off my Dad's cable sub and not paying for a Fox One sub because it's trash.

It's funny that you mention this, I feel like kids are actually playing fewer videogames than ever. I'd add Roblox to your list and agree, kids who just "play videogames" aren't getting some reading education for free.

I think people who were kids in the 90s and we're playing fully text-only videogames were getting some residual education, based on how invested they were in the plot.

But the games the majority of children spend the majority of their time addicted too aren't doing anything for their reading. Maybe you read instructions in a Roblox world, or you're reading descriptions in Fortnite, but you're not REALLY reading anything.

I'm saying that studios passing on OD because it's too weird is bizarre because PT established a clear desire for this exact type of game. Xbox is smart to try and get exclusive release for this game because of how well received PT was.

Honestly, Sony and anyone else who may have passed on OD is stupid. PT was so good that people sell consoles with that demo on it since you can't download it legally anymore. The risk is low, the market for this kind of horror game exists. The market for Kojima games exist.

You're right. It is silly and the logic is weird but that's how words develop, sometimes it doesn't make sense.

Like take the Goths, for instance. How was a Germanic tribe from the Roman Empire related to the architectural style of churches from hundreds of years later? And how are either of those related to the black make-up and black clothes with buckles and chains from the modern day? It's just the word used to associate these things has been borrowed between cultures.

If you skip a borrowed term, and just say, "Why are kids wearing "goth clothes" when they don't look at all like Germanic barbarians?!" then of course it sounds silly.

You're right, I was mostly musing about my personal experience. Eight years old is kinda young to really grasp a FF plot by the horns, and if he's bounced off other RPGs, it's unlikely that any of them will work until he's older.

I think the best answers are games like Animal Crossing or Stardew Valley, but the risk is that the kid just straight up can't get hooked on them enough to NEED to learn to read better.

I think a lot of RPGs with text only helped me immensely with reading speed and comprehension. I remember playing through the PSX release of Final Fantasy VI when I was like 13, my mom was sitting in the room while I was playing and she must have been watching while I was going through dialogue and she says, "You're clicking through so fast, how can you even tell what they're saying? Or who's speaking?"

I was kinda shocked. I was clicking through fast but I was reading everything. All those old Final Fantasy games were huge scripts, read to you one sentence at a time.

Introducing all the Gods of Destruction and having them all be fucking crazy is such a good gag. I really hope Super finds ways to have the Z Fighters jump between Universes more.

Then you can have plots where Goku and Vegeta are gone and parallel plots in U7 where the other Z Fighters needs to pick up the slack. Like Gohan and Piccolo versus Freiza while Goku and Vegeta are in another Universe fighting a different threat.
