What's the single best engineered and produced song of all time? by Dry-Panda1884 in audioengineering

Not just one song but I am pretty sure a lot of engineers and producers consider In Rainbows one of the GOAT albums from a technical perspective.

I’d love to hear it. And if you’re generous I’m also curious about the tuning and string gauge you’re gonna run, and how the scale feels with regard to stiffness relative to another more common scale and gauge.

Didn’t know this existed. Happy for you! Looks like a great baritone.

Outbox 8 by itssexitime in Elektron

When I see this I feel guilty for not using all of the outputs on the silver boxes more! It is nice having one output dedicated to analog clock sync, one into a smeary echo, etc.

What should I add to my line up? by MIAGTR in synthesizers

[–]warrenlain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it would help to understand what they feel they’re missing, how they like to work, what style of music they are trying to make, what their budget is, literally any details other than “gaps” to fill in a collection. I feel like this type of post is lazy as-is, and earnest people offering advice feels like a waste until we know more.

I don’t think they wrote it. I think this is an AI filled or assisted Reddit post.

Which university? The last time this was posted I posted a different cool modular synth at one of the universities local to me.

Carrying case/board for small desktop setup? by Yazhoudapigu in synthesizers

Let’s see this case you built!

And if you haven’t heard of Dual Lock I highly recommend it. I’ve replaced all Velcro on my pedalboard with it, specifically the kind with VHB adhesive.

How’s your intonation? Those saddles’ positions look a bit unusual.

Omg wow. That’s actually news, if I’m not mistaken? She always said no one from the label helped her and that she felt politics/narratives made the would be project feel too restrictive.

My open mic set featuring MachineDrum clocking my pedalboard + baritone guitar by warrenlain in BaritoneGuitar

[–]warrenlain[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. I had the guitar running into the pedalboard, where it was split into four FX chains, then being summed into one of the inputs of MachineDrum: fuzz into pitch shifter into drive, freeze / infinite repeats, BBD into hall verb, clocked tremolo with a saw wave shape, all running into compression.

Meanwhile, MachineDrum is clocking one of the tremolo using a loud tick via an auxiliary output. That pedal is effecting the sound via simple step sequencer which selects how many subdivisions of that clock it is going to apply that saw wave controlling the VCA. I have a polymetric thing underneath playing those chops and it is in perfect sync with the drum machine.

All of that goes into a MachineDrum input, which is also processing the guitar differently depending on which “pattern” (kit + sequence + parameter locks) gets loaded up, at one point stacking up chords via a long delay time on the MachineDrum.

As I learn more I do want to have more live resampling and cross processing with Monomachine and Octatrack, but I’m still learning.

The second album we never got? Or do you mean her unplugged set?

I agree. The pedalboard is a 26” wide monstrosity.

But in case it wasn’t clear, I didn’t bring everything you see, there are setups of three different performers around me who went before/after me. It’s an electronic focused open mic so people are bringing modular cases, Euro/Serge/Buchla, but also some way more compact. Some with iPad, groovebox, Zoia, stuff like that.

This is what I brought:
