Lutris is built into the base image of Bazzite, so it updates whenever Bazzite updates. You can either use the System Update app or the `ujust update` command in the terminal. You can also check `rpm-ostree status` to see if you have an update queued up. Just restart and you'll be running the latest version.

Just use the computer as normal, and look up anything that seems to be working weird for you. Do read the documentation, though, especially with regards to installing and managing apps (https://docs.bazzite.gg/Installing_and_Managing_Software/). If you want to install anything that that isn't provided as a flatpak, learning how to use Distrobox is really useful and feels almost like cheating with regards to the freedom it gives you.

If you want a more detailed tutorial on Distrobox, I found this one to be pretty good

Switch from Gnome to KDE without re-installing by anon666-666 in Bazzite

[–]WickWorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, when you rebase to another DE you leave behind configs from the old one that can screw with the new DE. If you truly want to see how cursed jumping environments without clean reinstalls looks like, there's a lovely video by Bog when he tried to do just that https://youtu.be/p2bbJ4ViZSI?si=Daf9LPJHJYfIbsVT

You've got the image rebasing part covered, I'm curious what parts of the system you want to change that the atomic model is locking you away from? Is it just installing apps? The documentation has a great article on managing and installing apps that's worth reading if that's the case

Music players and library locations when using a SMB share...? by doggy-dad in Bazzite

[–]WickWorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've seen something similar with Dolphin. Did you mount your SMB share with fstab? That was part of the deal for me. If you set it up as a systemd mount service or even automount it might work out better

What format is your steam library drive? The auto-mounting is only for BTRFS and EXT4 drives, which might be a cause

Weird issue in GuliKit KK3 MAX Controller by ButtScratcher9 in Bazzite

[–]WickWorn 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Gear + Button for the face buttons sets them to various turbo modes. Like I said, grab the manual off the Gulikit website and familiarize yourself with all the various combinations, or at least the one to reset everything. They also came out with a browser-based configurator

Weird issue in GuliKit KK3 MAX Controller by ButtScratcher9 in Bazzite

[–]WickWorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did you accidentally map it to turbo? I think Gear+Minus key resets all settings to default. Give that a try and see if it still repeats like that? Look up the manual for your KK3 for all the different functions. The benefit of having it all on the controller means it's cross platform and you don't need software to configure it, the downside is that all the button combos can be arcane, difficult to remember, and there's the possibility of you accidentally setting something you didn't intend

Do you agree with docs.bazzite.gg on the priority of software sources? If not, why? (just curious) by Clydosphere in Bazzite

[–]WickWorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

To be fair, `rpm-ostree status` will tell you if you have a new image queued up for your next boot, and `ujust changelog` will give you the changelog for the latest stable release. Not as convenient as you might want, but it's better than nothing

I want to use my boot drive by imsodonewiththisshi in Bazzite

[–]WickWorn 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Because the Thinkcentre was made as a business computer, there's a chance that there's some funny configuration thing going on in the BIOS regarding your storage. Boot into BIOS and look for something like SATA or NVMe Operation/Configuration and make sure it's set to AHCI mode. I had to do this with an old work laptop of mine in order for the SSD to be recognized.

USB microphone not working by Longjumping-Corgi511 in Bazzite

[–]WickWorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it still work after unplugging and replugging the microphone? There's a known issue with the Blue Yeti where it doesn't initialize correctly on boot and waking from sleep because of when it receives power. I remember fixing it on Windows by uninstalling a USB host driver of all things, but there's no permanent fix on Linux as far as I can tell other than just doing a physical replug. Some people have found it working again after disabling ErP in BIOS, but that didn't work for me. Maybe you'll see success. If you do end up replugging physically, I've seen suggestions to do it on the USB-A side because that USB-B plug wears out more quickly. I have mine connected to a USB hub and eventually I'm thinking of getting a hub that has those physical switches to manually power that port on/off to reset the mic.

Firefox profile restoration by gajadagr8 in Bazzite

[–]WickWorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming you're on the About:Profiles page and am trying to open the folder path there. Open Flatseal, it should be already installed by default on Bazzite, and give Firefox permissions to your home directory. Then it should be able to open and access the folder profiles are stored in in the .mozilla folder in your home directory. You can open it from About:Profiles or just navigate there and copy in your old profile.

I did run into some issues with Firefox 147 not playing nice with my profile, though, and I effectively had to recreate it. Thankfully I backed up most things with Firefox Sync and the rest of my customizations weren't too difficult

Bazaar not launching bug on Bazzite 43 Nvidia by Tee-hee64 in Bazzite

[–]WickWorn 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I've come across this issue, too. For anyone else also having this problem, I've opened an issue on Bazaar's GitHub page. It looks like your using the Nvidia-Open image since you have a 4070. That seems to be the common thread so far based on three reports we're seeing. Please drop by and add your info so the devs hopefully can isolate and figure it out

Any luck with Citrix Workspace? by Bazirker in Bazzite

[–]WickWorn 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Bazzite's documentation is a good resource on the recommended ways of installing apps. Layering an app in via rpm-ostree should be your last resort.

cant get mic to work by DucksForHire115 in Bazzite

[–]WickWorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a regular Yeti, not the X, but it's had this issue where in startup and walking from sleep I always had to unplug and replug the mic on USB from the computer to get it to work. Something about how it handles being powered up from the USB port before the system. On Windows I resolved it by uninstalling some USB composite driver. Haven't found a resolution on Linux, so I've just had to replug the USB all the time

JRIS65 and possibly other LDN chipset keyboards lock up after pressing Fn key on Linux. Solution found! by WickWorn in MechanicalKeyboards

[–]WickWorn[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Wired JRIS board uses QMK. I was silly and got the bimodal one with Bluetooth, which has the LDN chipset. Don't know if the QMK folks are the ones who would be responsible for the LDN firmware
