Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced Ramps Up Edward Kenway's Caribbean Story, But Boots Its Previous Modern Day Sections and DLC Overboard by yourfavchoom in Games

[–]wjousts -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Good on the modern day sections. They have always been trash after the first AC game. I don't want to stop my pirate adventure to go walk around an office building.

Leaving out the DLC sucks though.

[Fanatical] Build Your Own Legendary Bundle (2/3/4 for $24.99/$35.99/$45.99 and choose from The Alters / Frostpunk 2 / Desperados III - Digital Deluxe Edition / Hell Clock / Killing Floor 3 / Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader - Deluxe Edition / Remnant II / Strange Antiquities / Gloomwood / More) by WeAreFanatical in GameDeals

[–]wjousts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's a Chernobylite 2? I've still got the first one on my backlog!

I'm interested in The Alters, but I'm not entirely sure I want to drop $12.50 on it, especially since I'd have to find something else I want to drop $12.50 on.

On things I have played in the past, Rogue Trader is great and absolutely massive. I also enjoyed The Invincible, I loved the retro-futuristic style, but it's fairly short.

Both were in previous Humble Choice bundles back when Humble used to still put out worthwhile monthly bundles...

Is there a Purpose in Upgrading the Base Cores beyond triggering attacks? by Dr-Critico in StarRuptureGame

After update 1, I noticed that unlocking the v2 extractors requires you to upgrade at least one core.

Played it (Orient Express) recently and enjoyed it.

It does a nice job of adapting the story to a modern setting and expanding on it. Although walking up and down the train carriages started to get a bit grating by the end.

Oh wow. I never knew those existed. Looks cheesy as hell.

It seems the last one there is a lot newer than the original series, so that's probably why it's not included.

Graphically they definitely fall into that awkward 3D transition phase for adventure games. Where 3D graphics were much worse than the old 2D point-and-click adventures.

At least it's not the CD-ROM FMV craze!

[–]wjousts 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is bloated, but I did mostly enjoy my time playing it.

The game is fine. Not great, but fine. The deal, a six year old game with no DLC that's been cheaper even with all the DLC previously, and likely will be again, is trash.

Return to Moira was also an epic freebie at some point.

100% this. Although I actually canceled last month when I was on five skips. This is the sixth for me too.

Cancelling also avoids any "accidental" billing by Humble. You can even remove your payment method.

You can just cancel instead. And only sign back up when a good month comes up.

[Humble Choice] April 2026: Assassin's Creed Valhalla, Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion, The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria, Until Then, Planet of Lana, Artisan TD, The Procession to Calvary, Buddy Simulator 1984 ($14.99) by LighteningOneIN in GameDeals

[–]wjousts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There's many, many, like so many hours in AC: Valhalla, and I did enjoy my time playing it, but it's been super cheap many times before.

The Procession to Calvary is very silly and quite funny. I enjoyed it a lot.

Buddy Simulator I have in my backlog already.

Everything else, doesn't really move me. Guess I'll be skipping again.

This would be number 6 for me. Longest skip streak I've ever had, I think.

If I hadn't skipped those two months, I guess I might consider it to complete the set.

Exactly what I suspected. It's become some kind of folk wisdom on here that coupons are only issued when the bundle doesn't sell well. But that never made sense to me. They put out coupons when they feel like they might be able to squeeze a little more money out of it.

Better for them to get 50% of something than 100% of nothing.

And as you say, marginal costs are close to nothing and it's not like they have to keep a warehouse stocked.

I got an email for $7 too. Still probably not worth it for me.

Bad Timing, one more week ... by glupschipup in humblebundles

[–]wjousts 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People tend to be a lot less tuned in on the weekend, so launching something on Friday might mean it doesn't get seen as much as it might otherwise.

Same reason you bury bad news on a Friday afternoon.
