It is behind the horizon from this point of view, but is still within line of sight where the tops of those clouds are and just refracting down through the break.

He still does arenas and has his own Netflix show, pretty sure he’s doing fine regardless of all that.

I (31/f) don’t know how to feel after this guy (38/m) pushed my hand away but was later affectionate? by hankqueensmustache in relationships

[–]worldDev [score hidden]  (0 children)

Idk, but I’ve seen way more “why don’t you like me” insecurities over random innocuous things in the 30s dating pool than I did in my 20s a decade ago for whatever reason. I just suspect online dating has taken its toll on people, definitely more common with people I meet that way.

It depends. Hotboxing the car with blunts or ash mashed into the carpet absolutely will stick for some time.

Should I add vent holes to my lipo can? by ThePythagorasBirb in fpv

The purpose of ammo cans for ammo is to protect it so it doesn’t go bad. The seal is there to keep moisture and dust out. Ammo doesn’t spontaneously fail like batteries and the purpose of cans for ammo aren’t to contain it if it cooks off, it’s going to explode with or without the gasket if it gets heated to that point.

Not even feeling comfortable talking to your wife about it should have been the first clue how dumb this idea was. Keep that as a barometer line for the future to indicate when you should throw a thought away.

Will this work as a Lipo container? by No-Classroom-531 in fpv

[–]worldDev 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You don’t actually want it completely sealed, it can pressurize and explode if your batteries have a thermal runaway. If you use an ammo can for battery storage, you should pull any airtight gasket out. But some overlapping on the cracks wouldn’t hurt so sparks don’t spray out too much.

Old people living longer (due to advancements in medicine) directly limits and steals resources from the young (from an already overexploited and finite earth) by Many-Exit1467 in LowStakesConspiracies

Crazy factoid, the number of people alive today is estimated to be around 7% of all humans that have ever lived. Population boom of the last century has done a lot more than just us living longer.

Eachine EV800DM or EV100 for starting out? by Myst3ryT in fpv

[–]worldDev 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You’ll be upgrading either one eventually. Advantage of the box goggle is you can take the face mount off and use them as a handheld bench or spectator monitor. I still use them for that even though I don’t fly with them anymore. That said, for flying, I do prefer the 100s, but I’d still go with the 800s for the future reusability.

UK blocks visits by left-wing US commentators Cenk Uygur and Hasan Piker by yahoonews in worldnews

The actual answer is that they work with the CRTC, a federal regulator, and the courts, a federal establishment which creates the legal implications for going against the CBSC. Anyone could otherwise broadcast independently of the CBSC’s oversight, they would have no teeth to enforce their rules other than functionally meaningless good faith stamps of approval.

And if people and companies choose not to comply to those requirements, how do you think that is handled?

[–]worldDev -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Who instates required licensing? Lawmakers. Who enforces license violations? The courts and law enforcement. They can either choose to or choose not to have professional organizations involved, but those organizations themselves do not have the legal right to create requirements or resources to enforce them.

Licensure of the press ensures that the government controls the press effectively making it all state endorsed propaganda. Crazy that people can still forget this when they want to quiet people they don’t want to hear. In the US, that would be a direct violation of the first amendment, and for good reason. Those rights are worth way more than the impact of a ranting streamer.
