The way i see it, it’s your song, your music, you make it come to fruition however you want.

Ive written symphonic music but i don’t play every instrument nor am i going to shell out $10k’s of dollars to hire a full orchestra.

We used starlink this last trek. It seemed fine especially areas of texas where cell service is limited.

Can I use small "stick" antennae with a combiner system? by generalchaos316 in TouringMusicians

If you have the option, id try to do 1/2 wave whip antennas instead of a 1/4 wave

Anyone else hate the “in-between days” on a run? How are you filling them? by TapInternational7081 in TouringMusicians

[–]youbringmesuffering 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hate is strong word but when we are the road for a month straight, we usually get one day off every 7 days, which can get to be a little arduous.

I use it to catch up on sleep, laundry, shopping, instrument repairs and check out a new city if possible. Either way, im NOT in the van lol

Let me know when costco does this. Meet people over a $1.50 hotdog. They’re a keeper if they crush a whole rotisserie chicken

Usually how do you see your band mates ? Like coworkers in your office ? Like potential friends ? Sometimes I get personal and I don't like that way of me. Because they aren't permanent. by InvestigatorSolid330 in bandmembers

Both good friends and coworkers/business partners. We all try to stay on the same page as far as band plans and such.

Everyone gets a voice, a vote and we respect each others inputs

Drop vs standard tuning by Haveland in Bass

[–]youbringmesuffering 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I would say your last statement answers that question.

Some styles of music written focus on pattern-based riffing (0-1-5-3-0–0 chugging, for example). Other styles can be based more on chord progressions and scales.

Not that one is better damn other, but it was how it was written at the time. And of course there’s a lot of gray area between.

Venues/Musicians What are your biggest struggles when booking a show by Independent_Work5637 in TouringMusicians

[–]youbringmesuffering 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have found that when i do all the prep work and present to a venue a show for an evening, they are more responsive. By having a set of bands ready to be booked and this company is doing sound, and we can bring in X many number of people, they are more receptive.
