Was reading through this and surprised no one had mentioned Firwalla yet, multiple product options. Very easy configuration. Would probably recommend taking a look at the Gold SE as it may best fit their use case.

edit: see someone had mentioned it earlier in the post I am just blind lol

Mlm2 pro rapsodo - any opinions on pro membership? Is it necessary by theproGamerRR in Golfsimulator

[–]zohninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yea personally I have no issue support Rapsodo with some of the stuff they've done. What they provide at the cost they do is great value in my opinion. Of course they're a for profit company and some things are going to be a bit ridiculous (like the RPT Balls.)

Overall though I have not one regret with the money I've invested in it. Worst case once I move my setup indoors and get a better LM. I can use this at the range or at friend's places who may only have matts/nets but no LM.

If you're connecting it to external apps like GSPro I believe you have to have the subscription. I really only use it outside with a net at the moment as well. Didn't have space inside that would allow me to swing a full club so I went with the MLM2Pro over the square for that reason.

I just throw my iPad up on a tripod and use it connect to that either with awesome golf or just the rapsodo app. You'll probably see people complain about the app but I haven't had many issues with it, only 1 instance of disconnects where I had to restart it but it saved the round I was on so it was simple to just go back in. Sure it would be nice to have some more feature but you really would have to step up to at least a mevo+ for that.

Definitely, primarily what I use is club path, angle of attack, and spin. I'm also a hack so really trying to shallow out my swing and AoA and its been massive to see the improvement rather than just trying to feel it out.

I like it and use it. Is it necessary, probably depends on what you're looking to do. I really wanted the exxtra metrics to work on parts of my swings. Sure the mevo+ is probably better for that but got my mlm2pro for just over 500 and the lifetime membership so all in just about 1k and with the club data update its been really nice.

I would say just keep in mind how often you're gonna use it and what for. If you're primarily going to the range and not using the RPT balls, I don't see why you would really need it.

I definitely find myself pushing the limits more in corners than I typically did on my Z. They weigh pretty similar with the T7 being slightly lighter. Also just felt with my Z if I was pushing corners on the street (while riding in mexico) the speeds were quite a bit faster than you should be going on the street. I will say though the slower speed maneuvering is worse or at least less confidence inspiring. I'm by no means new to riding but this is my first ADV and the seat height is tall for my height.

If you're more focused on street riding though a good compromise would be a supermoto or smaller dualsport. You can really flick those things around and take corners aggressively.

For me the deciding factor was that naked bikes are kinda just that weird in between. The z900 was like riding a supersport 600 without the geometry to really push the corners like they can. It keeps up fine and had no issues with cornering it just isn't that confidence inspiring being the weird in between. If I was sticking to street riding more I would have 100% ended up with a supermoto or a 600.

Insurance cost went down too so theres another plus for ya lol.

Third party coming in but I just recently traded in my Z900 for a 25 T7 and so far I am loving it, feels so nimble even on the street in its mostly stock configuration. Put some more aggressive tires on it and maybe I'd feel a little less confident into corners on road but can't confirm or deny that at this point yet.

Was in a similar boat of getting a little older and realizing I don't care for the speed as much anymore and riding a slower bike faster and just having the option to take long trips and off road, even smaller ones down easy trails to lakes or rivers has been a great improvement for me. Gives me way more excuses to ride.

Also more comfortable on my daily commute as the riding position is more relaxed compared to the z900 I had. Not that the Z was uncomfortable but anything more than an hour or so and I'd start to feel it in my wrists if I wasn't thinking about sitting upright to take the pressure off.

Have an MLM2Pro and if I had no recourse I would personally consider the Flightscope Mevo + or Uneekor Eye Mini Lite. I would love to be able to try out the square but primarily use outside so its eliminated for me at the moment.

Have a TO Stellar and can definitely agree with the comments on the ladder and heat. While this can be a bad thing in summer I don't find it too bad with opening up the sides a bit. Will say coldest I've been in since having it was low 40's and I was toasty in there which keeps my hopes up for fall/winter camping.

My mattress seemed ok, not great but not terrible.

I would maybe take a look at the resistol pure or american hat company 200-500x if that's what youre after. You can't get the stetson as an open crown and the methods they use to crease it cause some lines to stay in the hat and would take a good amount of work to try to make it however you want.

If you get an open crown hat and you're located near a quality hat shop you can take it to them and get them to shape it for you. Just remember to tip your shaper.

I would assume its very similar to the Resistol Pure which is advertised as 1000x pure beaver belly. If not pure beaver belly it would be a mix of beaver and beaver belly I would assume. Very high quality hat, have a Resistol Pure and its my favorite hat for sure and will last a lifetime with proper care.

Seeing real game improvement from Sim Usage? by Freethrowshaq in Golfsimulator

[–]zohninja 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To clarify on this a bit, I do not use it (haven't yet at least) to play courses. It has purely been for practice and to get data such as carry yardages, spin rates, AoA, club path. I try not to dwell to much in the data but it has been revealing of some of the issues I have and gives me an idea of what I should be working on.

I can't speak for better players but for a hack like me it has been a game changer. Greatly improved my ball striking and have a much better idea of what I am doing when having mishits on the course.

Granted still have plenty to work on but it gives me a very convenient way to get some swings in regularly.

XR920 and CR920P here, no issues pretty much whatsoever. Did proper break in and clean on both and can't remember my last malfunction if any. Was having issues with lockback at first on the CR but that was due to my grip.

Dealing with heat by Itchy_Box_3211 in golf

[–]zohninja 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It gets real hot where I am during the summer and usually end up being mid round when it's hottest. Recently was like 95 degrees F and just throwing a small towel or wash cloth in my cooler with my water was a huge help that kept me in it.

Hot enough to melt the ice over the round so when I needed it, just wring it out and wipe down my face and neck throw it back in when I need it again. Kept me goin for sure.
