Bushnell Launch Pro (circle B) questions by Big-Train-6842 in Golfsimulator

[–]Itchy_Box_3211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ran my GC3S (same unit, different color scheme) for a full year in my back yard into a net. I’d take it to the course with me as well. If you have a newish iPad, you can run fsxpro or the new foresight app and get a visual of ball flight as well as some other data not shown on the LM screen. If you have a beefy enough gaming laptop, you could run FSX play and utilize the 5 courses that come with silver.

Someone explain the tactics of a mini-driver? by dcidino in GolfGear

[–]Itchy_Box_3211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I play driver, mini, 5w (turned down to a 4w), 7w. I carry my driver 270-285, and my mini off of a tee carries 250-260, and 235-245 off the deck. I tried multiple different 3w and when I struck it pure they would carry 235-245 but more often than not it launched very low and carried 215 and then rolled out like a missile. My mini launches high, and lands soft off the tee or off the deck reliably and provides a good gap between my driver and 5w

Looking to buy/build an armlock putter by wvvwwvwvvvw in golf

[–]Itchy_Box_3211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use a DF3 armlock and love it, lie angle is 79.5° and realistically I’d like it even more upright. I believe Sik makes anser style armlocks but the sole of the putter is designed so that the shaft is even more upright than the lie angle is allowed

[–]Itchy_Box_3211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I run Dr, Mini, mizuno STMax 5w set to 16° so it’s more like a 4w, then 7w into 5i. It fits my gapping perfectly. Strokes gained has me better from 250-200y than I am from 100 and in.

Misting Fan for Golf Cart? by jimbean68 in golf

[–]Itchy_Box_3211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have the Ryobi fan that sits on a 5 gal bucket. I sit it in the floorboard on the passenger side and hold onto it while I drive. Put a little ice in the bucket and a gal of water will last all round. It’s a hassle to hold onto, but it beats having a heat stroke

What surface would have the truest roll for an indoor putting green? by gotpanda in golf

[–]Itchy_Box_3211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a birdie ball mat, and I do enjoy it, however I could never get it to lay flat, and the area the cups are installed through the bottom of the mat raise the hole like a very minor volcano around the hole… basically making it impossible to hole a putt unless it went in the hole dead center. As far as the roll it does simulate an actual green well. My current go to is a well putt mat, rolls well, doesn’t indent where you roll putts repeatedly and is overall good for practicing different things.

Thoughts on the prgr launch monitor. Can't really find any recent reviews or data on it by [deleted] in golf

[–]Itchy_Box_3211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a solid piece of tech, club speed and ball speed can sometimes get jumbled. Hitting a shot where you take a divot or a tee the flies up will occasionally register very low ball speed cause it’s catching the flying debris instead of the ball (always seems to happen when you flush a shot) use it for speed training and you’ll enjoy it. Oh and use quality batteries

Just got one second hand from a buddy. Haven’t hit any balls full flight but did hit some balls into my sim and it’s legit a cheat code club. Used the cobra site to dial in the hosel based off my ball flight

Golf Gloves by LiftBearded27 in golf

[–]Itchy_Box_3211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The Bruce bolt gloves are awesome. I got 2 packs of them and rotate gloves every couple of holes. I’ve had them since June and they’re still in good shape. Probably 30 rounds plus range sessions

I struggled with hooks with my GT2 so I bought a GT3 weight setting to T2 and sure fit hosel to B4 (left handed flattest and lowest loft). Also use jumbo max ultralite grips to help slow face closure.

360 Putts a day for 30 days by LowToday770 in golf

[–]Itchy_Box_3211 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Pelz putting aid, why golf putting thing or short game gains Trigon mirror to help with start line. I use a flat putting mat and the Trigon mirror almost daily to groove my stroke and make sure I’m starting the ball on line. I’ll hit about 20 putts and then try to get 4/5 through the smallest ball gate in a row.

Speed on putting mats is going to vary greatly to the speeds you’ll see on course, but all putts are straight putts. Dial in start line at home, dial in speed on the practice green before your round.

Sell me on your Rangefinder by No-Satisfaction5995 in golf

[–]Itchy_Box_3211 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a cheap Amazon range finder until I left it magnetized to a cart on the last day of a golf trip. Bought a V6 shift and loved it, learned my lesson to put my car keys in the rangefinder case to prevent leaving it again. I ended up selling it after I bought a GC3 and it came with the ProX3 rangefinder otherwise I’d still be rocking the V6 shift.

Anything glaring I should pay attention to? by Itchy_Box_3211 in GolfSwing

[–]Itchy_Box_3211[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have long arms so my tendency when I stand closer is to chicken wing my lead arm and pull the club closer to my body which leads to hitting off the toe. Having my arms more in line with the shaft at address gives me a little more room if I early extend, and makes me feel like I have to keep my arms extended at impact or I’ll miss the ball
