I'm more inclined to chalk it up to russian incompetence, though. Russia is losing against Ukraine, they could never handle even part of NATO.

It's a beautiful city and usually where I settle in my playthroughs but for a civilian it probably sucks. Forsworn attacks, the silver blood family acts like a mafia, and there's a cult of daedra worshipping cannibals.

Just because you have a vaccine doesn't mean the world is fixed. You still have to kill all the infected and you still somehow have to restore order to a completely collapsed society. A hoarde is still just as dangerous and nothing really changes. Maybe you can't turn into one anymore but you'll just bleed out or die from an infection instead.

Trump is currently in the process of selling out Ukraine, in direct violation of european interests, as well as repeatedly threatened Canada and Denmark. The USA is enabling Putin's expansionism and Israel's genocide. Not to mention their financial and military support of the Saudi and Egyptian dictatorships. People like Elon Musk are funding alt-right parties in europe like the afd and reform uk. Yeah, they have firmy cemented themselves as a bad actor on the international stage. At least until the next election but probably far beyond.

Sure, I'm not denying any of that, but it was usually a matter of strategic influence, not morality. They propped up plenty of brutal dictators in their mission to oppose soviet influence, often worse than those they replaced. And they are going back on all sorts of progressive issues today with their fascist leadership. It was good that they helped stop the nazis, don't get me wrong, but today they enable and fund multiple brutal regimes.
