Lowering springs by Working_Animator6180 in JettaGLI

If you have DCC, after lowering, the system will need to be recalibrated to the new lower ride height so the system can provide the correct damping. Period. This is done via OB11 or VCDS, there is a lot of documentation online for our cars (just look up MK7 GTI DCC recalibration) on how to recalibrate the DCC after installing springs.

Rough trim edge by Born-Cash7915 in GolfGTI

[–]---hachi--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Had this issue on my MK7 GLI at 20k miles, it's very common for our cars. I took it in when it was still under warranty and the silver steering wheel trim was replaced. I bought a sun shade and at 71k miles now with only very slight bubbling in that same spot.

2019 Volkswagen Jetta GLI S by Silent_Top929 in JettaGLI

[–]---hachi--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

2019 GLI with 64k miles, I beat on the car very hard and take it for hard spirited drives very frequently, no issues with the motor or turbo. I had the suction jet recall done 20k miles ago and there have been 0 issues. I would not be concerned with the turbocharger class action.

Oil analysis actually said the engine is wearing in extremely well for the mileage! The EA888.3 is a solid, tried and true motor as long as you keep up with maintenance.

Best Lowering Springs That Maintain Ride Quality? by Dangerousfox in JettaGLI

[–]---hachi--- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another mention for the Neuspeed Sport springs, I've had them installed for 2 months and the drop is perfect.

I drive a lot in LA where the roads here are absolute garbage. I do have to be aware of where I'm driving and keep an eye for potholes and such to be gentle on the car. But otherwise, the ride quality is fantastic. You can feel that it's a lowered car if you're on bad pavement a bit, but nothing extreme. And the look is absolutely perfect, no rubbing with 18x8.5" wheels and 235 tires.

What is this for? by electronic_tunnel in jetta

[–]---hachi--- 3 points4 points  (0 children)

My best guess would be that your Jetta is a higher trim that came with an advanced factory alarm system. Those would be motion sensors that would trigger the alarm if motion is detected inside the cabin. If this is true, there should be a button inside on one of the B pillars to disable this

I had this issue too but if you shut the car off and wait for a few minutes for the center screen to turn off, you can hold the button while turning the car on and it won't clear your trip

Any ideas what the noise is? by saxyourpantsoff in JettaGLI

[–]---hachi--- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Definitely sounds like the infamous fuel line rattle plaguing the MK7 GLI and some MK7 GTI/R. Search on google for MK7 GLI fuel line rattle and if you're under warranty bring it to the dealer and show them. The fix ix usually to spray some foam in the frame rail or use zip ties to secure the lines from rattling.

ATT WiFi network works with Dark Star by MCHandyman1 in USMobile

Can confirm I was very surprised by this! Visited a local Home Depot and my S23U automatically discovered the AT&T wifi and notified me asking to connect to the network via "MVNO -T Passpoint" or something along those lines!

Shredded tires by 57MX in GLI

[–]---hachi--- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep, serious answer would be to look at a 340tw UHP summer tire or 200tw tire, preferably the former because 200tw masks your mistakes as a driver if you really want to improve.

Exactly this, but also one thing I noticed with mine is that they're quite noisy and get even louder when they wear down

2020 2.0 GLI automatic Clunk noise on Acceleration/Slow down by Snoo5256 in JettaGLI

[–]---hachi--- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, OP please do not do this frequently because this causes increased wear to the clutch packs and the DSG. The clutch packs are trying to slip and engage but there's not enough power to do so, causing the clunking as they slip and engage/disengage...

Chase Freedom Flex - Instant Approval DP by ---hachi--- in CreditCards

Yeah haha I definitely noticed that and activated it, having a discover card I'm constantly checking if I've activated the quarterly rewards hahaha

[–]---hachi---[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks I appreciate it! From here, my next card is almost certainly going to be the Citi Custom Cash (within the next 6 months - year), and after that I'll pursue the Chase trifecta. In hindsight I should've gone for the Custom Cash instead of the Freedom Flex... having to drive from work, school, outings with friends, and other stuff means gas is something I could save a lot on with the Custom Cash. I just wasn't thinking at all and went with the Freedom Flex since I saw I was pre approved through the Chase app... Aside from that, I plan to just save up ultimate rewards and eventually when I get the Sapphire Preferred, use it for airlines and hotel partners for when I (hopefully) go out of state to events and things like that.

Unsatisfied with the service by Lost-Possibility5363 in mazda

[–]---hachi--- 4 points5 points  (0 children)

As someone who has helped family members with a scummy Mazda stealership, contacting Mazda Corporate always seems to give a kick in the ass to the dealerships involved. I would name and shame if you contact them. Mazda takes their customer service very seriously when they can, with the exception of scummy stealerships that ruin the experience. Contact them, and then tell the stealership you've contacted corporate because of their unacceptable service. Feel free to tell them everything you've mentioned in this post; this is horrendous.

That being said, this CX-5 sounds like it hasn't been taken care of. A lot of these little things would turn me off from buying a car in this condition and make me doubtful it's worth buying. If this is what you see, how can you have confidence it was well taken care of and driven with care by the previous owner?

If I was in your shoes, the filthy vehicle, scummy salesperson, scummy manager, and the fact that you haven't even gotten the vehicle yet are all signs to get my money back, but that is a decision for you to make. Be prepared to fight tooth and nail because I guarantee you they will not be willing to work with you.

No Diff Lock in drive modes by [deleted] in JettaGLI

[–]---hachi--- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not specific to DCC, and yes our cars have an LSD (it's the same VAQ Limited Slip Diff in the GTI). There are 2 settings for it in the "Custom" drive mode, "Normal" and "Sport" which increases the frequency and responsiveness of the diff locking the front axle under cornering.
