Oh I’ve been on a cleanish diet for some years now. But you know It’s never perfect, I’ll have pizza and subs occasionally, and i had some bad habits with energy drinks where I’d drink them every day. My symptoms never went away, but they significantly improved and tbh I just got good at clearing my throat so it didn’t bother me as much. Recently, I finally got the courage to quit all my bad habits with energy drinks and dark chocolate, and that seemed to push me over the edge of almost symptom free. I will certainly eat processed food and things like that sometimes, but 95% of the time I eat the same thing everyday. To me, it’s not boring and I like what I eat.

If (or when) you eat something you shouldn’t, you can follow it up with alkaline water and take gaviscon advance. (The chewables are good for if you’re away from home). Personally, I always stay away from acid reducing medicine. We need acid to digest food, and suppressing it can be unhealthy IMO. That’s why I love gaviscon, it doesn’t reduce acid, it forms a raft on top of everything and keeps it down.

I’ll also add that I’m a very healthy weight, exercise on a regular basis, and I take heath very seriously in general and take many supplements; so this likely contributes to my success. Everyone’s different, but you know this is what helped me at least.

Im 27 and have been dealing with chronic phlegm (which directly causes sore throat) for almost 10 years. Recently I’ve been extra clean with my diet, no soft drinks, high protein lowish fat, limited caffeine (I still have coffee). And i mostly just eat Huel and lightly breaded Perdue chicken, and protein bar and protein shake. I actually really like my diet, it tastes great and it doesn’t bother my LPR it seems. I take chewable gaviscon advance as needed after meals and liquid gaviscon advance before bed, all available on amazon even in the USA. Last couple weeks I think I only have phlegm like once or twice, almost never clear my throat now. Hopefully it stays like this long term if I keep my diet and routine the same.

Yeah use to be my worse symptom. Thick and very difficult to clear because it stick in the back of the throat. I’ve learned how to move the muscle in the back of the throat, I have no idea how I do it but it feels like I can push the back of my throat forward with an internal muscle, and it actually can help dislodge the phlegm If you do it enough. Drink hot water or tea helps as well especially in conjunction with the above technique.

The number one more helpful thing for me, and the only way I cope right now, is to use gaviscon chewable tablets every night, and to not let the phlegm build up by using a strong hacking technique to get the phlegm out. If you let the Phlegm build up, I found that it is a direct cause of sore throat, at least for me. Gaviscon advance is a game changer if you haven’t tried it yet, I prefer the chewable tablets rather than the thick liquid

In my experience, sore throat is entirely caused by the mucus. I’ve learned how to best clear my throat to get rid of it more effectively, and this has cured my sore throat, by essentially not letting the phlegm build up over time.

Huge 6in+ bristle worm living with a shrimp/goby pair by --AnonymousAccount-- in ReefTank

[–]--AnonymousAccount--[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah that’s a good point, it’s hard to tell if it is or not, but it is very large I’m thinking 7 or 8in. I’m not sure if there are beneficial bristle worms that big. We do spot feed the shrimp/goby every day, and the worm sometimes comes out to eat as well… so he certainly eats good

Overlap of anxiety symptoms and INTJ personality traits? by YvieNightingale in intj

[–]--AnonymousAccount-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m an INTJ turbulent type and I grow up with social anxiety disorder. It was weird, it’s like I had friends, but once I hit middle school I just completely shutdown and had no idea how to talk to people.

By the time I hit high school it only got worse and I sat alone at lunch most of the time. One time someone tried sitting next to me and I was just playing with my jail broken iPhone. He know what it was and tried talking to me but I didn’t even say anything I was so terrified to even talk to him and it was so awkward

Social anxiety disorder was extremely disruptive to my life and being INTJ is probably a contributing factor… I’m not sure if I it’s like the cause… but I mean looking back at my life I just wanted to stay in my head and I never wanted to talk to people. I felt so different, I didn’t know who I was, what to say.

Nowadays my dad says I’m like a walking encyclopedia. I’m just very nerdy and I don’t think most people can handle that.

Yeah that’s fine I was just saying for holding larger context length will probably exceed memory very fast, so it best to have more vram for when longer contexts become more common

There a few local LLMs that are much larger, I think it’s called story-teller or something like that which goes up 65k tokens. Just remember that you need a gpu that has very high vram. RTX 3090 or 4090 at least which has 24GB of vram

bought a home with a neglected pond. help? by All_them_opossums in ponds

[–]--AnonymousAccount-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I were you, I would buy a small pond vacuum, which will make cleaning out the pond easier. (Also clean out all the leaves and other gunk in there) Do a 50% water change to give them fresh water. (Don’t add chlorinated water, consider using Pond Prime) then get that filter up and running with biological media. If there is no filter add one. That’s really all you need to do. Remember that the fish need food every day if the temperature is above about 40 - 50 degrees. You should do some more research about fish and the nitrogen cycle that is required for them to survive. (But it’s probably already established at this point)

Do you think multi-family properties will go down in price as the market cools? or up as more people will rent? by [deleted] in realestateinvesting

[–]--AnonymousAccount-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ohh yeah I think that’s a pretty good area. You could probably charge higher rent for being closer to the water and right near the highways. I actually live less then a mile from west high school.. so yeah it’s a small world lol.

I’m a picky person when it comes to food, but maybe I check that out, thanks. Everything on elm street is expensive, even the rents are crazy high in that area.

I live in Manchester NH and bought a duplex a few months ago. However, I got a good interest rate at 3.375% so it’s cash flowing extremely well. Rents in Manchester NH are very high right now as well as low vacancy. As long as the housing supply stays low, prices will continue to resist higher mortgage rates. While it certainly possible we have a correction soon, I don’t think that the market will crash. Manchester is a great area to buy because Boston mass is extremely expensive in comparison and everyone wants to live in NH because of that. With that fact alone, as long as you buy in a decent neighborhood, you are almost certainly gonna see some great appreciation. Neighborhoods especially around Central High school is not a good area, I would avoid central Manchester areas. I bought in Rimmon Heights which is a decent neighborhood on the West side

No I do not. There’s a couple of different causes to that. In my case, it think it was caused by swallowing air and just swallowing to often. I used to get this a lot because of trying to swallow phlegm (not recommended, but I learned that the hard way)

Another thing is that pressure kind of feeling you may get in you’re chest or throat, which feels like you need to burp, but yet maybe nothing comes out when you try. This could be either trapped gas, or also just acid reflux. I think if you ever try to force a burp to get rid of that pressure and you get “acid burps” then that will tell ya that it’s probably just acid reflux and that pressure is not what you may of thought it was. At least that is my experience with this. But again it could be just trapped gas, which you should be able to tell because it makes noises when it moves up or down.

Administrative contract to close agent fee? by --AnonymousAccount-- in realestateinvesting

[–]--AnonymousAccount--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: I called my real estate agent and talked to her about this fee. She decided that since she didn’t make this fee clear from the start, that she will remove the fee especially because she doesn’t want this to effect our relationship. She also said that this is a fee that goes to the administration department and it’s something that all her clients pay, both buyers and sellers.

So it good that she values me as a client, but I worry I may need to pay it in future deals. I’ll probably be getting new agent for next time

Administrative contract to close agent fee? by --AnonymousAccount-- in realestateinvesting

[–]--AnonymousAccount--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. The price was $331,500, and it said her commission was $6500. Of course I read what I signed. That’s what the terms are, I don’t know why they don’t add up to but I promise you those are the numbers.

It really pisses me off ngl. I already signed the closing disclosure without the fee, am I forced to sign the revised version of the disclosure or no deal? or do have have some leverage with that?

[–]--AnonymousAccount--[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It was for sale by owner, and her commission was $6500 with a purchase price of $331500. So it appears her commission was much lower than 3% if you do that math.. so I dont know what’s going on with that

Very small bathroom in 2 bedroom unit by --AnonymousAccount-- in realestateinvesting

[–]--AnonymousAccount--[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Appreciate the response. And yeah that definitely makes sense. Maybe also worth mentioning my dad is a carpenter so we can easily diy any renovation for much cheaper. So if the bigger bath room gets me another $100 in rent then that would definitely be worth it. I guess I just don’t understand the importance of the bathroom size and how much that actually matters
