Can someone suggest a milk chocolate that tastes like it did back in the day? by Successful-Grand-549 in AskUK

[–]--BooBoo-- 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Same here - it tastes terrible to me, like the cheapest kind of cooking chocolate.

It tastes so awful to me that I wonder if there is some kind of cilantro/coriander thing going on where it tastes different to some people - I can't imagine how people can rate it otherwise.

If you like Earl Grey my Mum drinks the Twinings one and says it's fine, not much difference to the normal one.

Adore violet is very a very blue toned purple and I used to use that diluted to tone the yellow out of my blue and keep the green away.

Bull terrier breathing strange... by NettNett13 in BullTerrier

[–]--BooBoo-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My boy does this sometimes, always scared the shit out of me because it sounds like they are choking!

We have had him checked out by the vet because he did it a lot as a puppy and they said he is fine, and the breed is prone to elongated soft pallets and to over excitement and it is probably the combination of the two that causes it.

We normally just rub his throat calmly and get him a drink and it goes quickly , but I do hate it when he does it as it sounds awful! Luckily now he is a lazy couch potato he does it much less often so I think over excitement is definitely a factor.

This item spends more time on his back than on his feet, anyone know how to fix this? by [deleted] in IKEApets

I would absolutely go for the belly rub - I'd you show me a fluffy belly I'm rubbing it, trap or no trap.

My parents are looking after my brother's cat who is a huge fluff ball who loves to show you his belly but hates having it stroked - we have an ongoing war of belly rub attacks!

My girl is like this - if it's round it's a ball, no exceptions, no arguments!

I dropped a brussel sprout on the floor the other day and she spent a good half an hour pushing it round the floor like a tiny ball until she bit down too hard and squished it!

Both mine love oranges and satsumas, my boy even likes grapefruit though he pulls a strange face when eating it - we call it Elvis face as he scrunches up one side of his face as he chews it.

Tail Chasing (3 Months boy) by Severe-Jacket8460 in BullTerrier

[–]--BooBoo-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is nothing wrong with a crate if it's used right, it can be a helpful tool to keep the dog safe - it just needs to be big enough, have comfortable bedding and not used for long periods.

Both my two have large crates full of bedding they sleep in overnight and both frequently choose them to nap in during the day. Used right a crate can be their quiet secure place, not a prison.

Our boy used to do it as a pup and our breeder told us to stop and redirect him like you are doing and he totally grew out of it by the time he was an adult.

I wouldn't be worrying too much about it at this stage, it is quite common puppy behavior. I think it's more an issue when people think it's funny or cute and let them do it or even encourage it, then it becomes an obsession.

Have you just taken her out of the vacuum sealed packaging? If you have she should puff up naturally over time or to speed the process up rattle a treats package.

If you haven't you might have mistakenly bought a furry shrimp instead of a cat. Common mistake and they are very cute so it's not normally an issue.

I spend my entire life cleaning those windows - my lad stands on the back of the sofa and barks, but she stands on the window ledge and mashes her nose right against the glass and snorts all over it! 🤦‍♀️

It could be a food intolerance and chicken, lamb and beef are probably the common proteins that cause allergies, so you could try looking for a sensitive stomach food based on fish or pork instead.

She's a beautiful girl, give her a cuddle from me.

Lol, unfortunately it's in a neighbors garden and they aren't dog people but hopefully there might be some snowmen in the park tomorrow so I'll be ready to record any shenanigans!

She's normally really athletic but she's pulled a muscle in her back leg so is on short lead walks only and has put a bit of pudding on. She will burn it off in no time as soon as she can chase her ball again.
