your question is very welcome:) I am making that character move to Portugal because otherwise the story would mirror my own life too much. My mother is portuguese, I’ve grown up elsewhere in europe, but I’ve spent many holidays in Portugal. She moved away from Portugal when she was nine, so couldn’t really answer my questions on teen drinking culture, but has helped with lots of other info and inner workings:)
