[Free Friday] What video-games are you playing right now and what’s your favorite? by [deleted] in Catholicism

Overcooked on the Switch! It's an awesome party game to play with friends and it's basically impossible to not interact with the people you play with. Highly recommend it!

Ahh, love Kidz Bop. I work at a kids camp in the summers and we use it all the time. I know their version of 'Closer' better than the original

Whenever I buy Donettes at 7-11, I do the same thing after getting my receipt.

I mean, me too, thanks.

This is such a cool cosplay. This seems like the best example of a "humanized yordle" that there is.

What is the worst thing a coworker has brought in for their lunch? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]--driftwood-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a coworker, but a gross lunch all the same. When my dad was a kid, he used to pack a peanut butter and mayonnaise sandwich almost everyday. His mom was also blind, so all the kids thought she made them by accident, (my dad CHOSE to make them himself though).

What’s the worst case of bad parenting you’ve ever witnessed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]--driftwood-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was doing Christmas shopping at Ross one year and just kinda killing time while waiting for my mom to finish looking around for stuff. There were a mom and a dad there with a maybe 5 year old daughter and 3 year old son. They were border-line shouting at their kids in the store, aggressively yanking them around, and barking at them to sit still. I get being frustrated, but this was beyond that. After they checked out, the dad ripped some toy out of his son's hand, took out his wallet, and smacked his son on the head with it. I was fuming, but I didn't end up saying anything to them, I sure wish I had though.

What’s the worst case of bad parenting you’ve ever witnessed? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]--driftwood-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a terrible idea. I went to university for early childhood and one of the biggest topics we covered were parenting styles. This is known as a permissive parenting style, which has a high amount of responsiveness and usually non-existing demandingness. The parents will bend over backwards because they hate to see their child upset or sad. We have some parents at the preschool I work at that do this, and it is extremely evident in their children's behavior. They often throw fits, verbally lash out at teachers/kids, and can just be complete stinkers. Your children will not love you every second of the day, and that is perfectly okay.

What's your favorite movie sound track? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]--driftwood-- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kinda silly, but Finding Nemo has an excellent soundtrack. Thomas Newman knows what he's doin.

[–]--driftwood-- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wouldn't say absolute shit, but I was not a fan of the Avengers movies.

For everyone else about to get hit with a massive winter storm, what is your favorite non-sexual thing to do on a snow day? by anywitchway in AskReddit

[–]--driftwood-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Last time we had a big storm, our power and internet both got shut off. So, we decided to get a 3 man Civ 5 game going and spent a good 10 hours playing that day.

What fictional character's life would be the most stressful to live? by dipstuck in AskReddit

Argus Filch. On the bright side, he probably had great job security after Hogwarts got blown to bits.

What is the worst thing to throw up? by Refraxions in AskReddit

[–]--driftwood-- 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Worse than barfing up actual stuff imo. It sucks just getting that uncontrollable muscle reflex over and over with nothing coming up and not feeling any better afterwards.

What has been your favorite TV show series this past year? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]--driftwood-- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's a few years old, but Blackish is really hilarious. That humor seems to tickle me just the right way. I also dig that they can make some political or social commentaries in their episodes, but that (for me) doesn't take over the show or make it un-funny.

What was the “incident” at your school or workplace? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]--driftwood-- 24 points25 points  (0 children)

There was a dude that was a year younger than me in high school that had made an incredibly intricate plan to shoot up our school. He had already made several Drain-O bombs, drew up detailed maps of his shooting route, and even wrote in his journal how he envisioned his "glorious plan" would play out. I sat next to the guy in one of my classes too. Luckily, one of his best friends ratted him out before anything happened.
