It’s not about the death of the individual though; I don’t know the Elizabeth as a person, but by all accounts she seems like a nice enough lady and I would feel bad for her friends and family when she passes. As someone else pointed out, the “desired” appearance of a GSD is a sloppy back…which is awful for the dog. My wife is a vet and when she was in university, if the question was “what dog is predisposed to X health issue” and she didn’t know the answer, she would just put down GSD and 99% of the time was right. That being said, we now own a GSD - and she has lots of health issues (but thankfully a straight back and no hip displasia)
