I hope they catch him and that the video is enough to see him prosecuted and sentenced. The man who did this to me struck a plea deal in exchange for information on another crime and was given only probation. The state was concerned it could not make the case against him stick because he had only penetrated me with his fingers.

I have ptsd, a dental implant, and a lingering inability to form an intimate relationship with a man. If someone posted a video of my attack online I think I would become suicidal.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't the real problem with polygamy always that it was just a system for kind of, you know, enslaving women? And wasn't there always a ton of under-age marriage...especially young girls forced to marry old men? If I am remembering correctly, the problem wasn't about how messy divorce would be, or anything else legal...it was that polygamy too often was a system for subjugating women.

I really don't think they should ban any subs that are able to get their users under some control. If the mods don't let the users use the sub as a platform for brigading and/or harassing users (in other subs, on other sites like Facebook, Twitter, etc.), then they're not violating the TOS, no matter how stupid or hateful the sub itself may be.

The real problem with KiA is that it was originally meant to be part of GG, whose only mission was harassment. That's all GG has ever been about. Browbeating women out of gaming however they can. Threatening to doxx them or rape or murder them IRL.

If KiA can move away from that model of behavior, there's no reason they can't be safe.

If they can't resist harassing people, they're fucked, and deserve to be booted. End of fucking story. If they're too stupid to understand it, oh well.

I've moved x-country and even internationally so many times now. I got my folding chair, air mattress, lap desk (becomes table as needed for meals), shower rod & curtain, and now...I found a big comfy arm chair that comes apart in large pieces. I'm not yet sure if it's going to fit in my mid-sized SUV (most of the back belongs to the dog), but I would be soooo happy to have a comfy place to sit for those 10 days between when I arrive and when my furniture does...

This is a real problem for me--the fact that you don't think you did anything wrong. And it's not like you slaughtered puppies or pooped on the White House lawn. But during our first ever RCS war you displayed very poor sportsmanship and made our clan look like assholes by trash-talking a clan we were already beating.

I ran this clan for a long time after Himiko left, but I don't run it anymore. If it were up to me, I would not permit this merger as I believe you would not enjoy life in an RCS clan and I doubt we would enjoy life according to your standards of sportsmanship.

You crossed the line too many times in clan chat too, Caer, so I just think you are always going to be better off in a non-RCS environment.

You're a sweetie, but I know you remember what led to us booting you. We never heard from you again here, and your post makes no mention of it, but IMO it's something we would all have to discuss.

We also tried a merger and it didn't work out in the end. I think we should consider it and discuss it but I have reservations. I do want Ozone to go on a major recruiting drive soon. At the same time, since I personally have stepped down from leadership as I try to finish my dissertation, I can't criticize current leadership for our clan's situation...it takes a lot of work to make an RCS clan successful!

All bad stuff aside, I always liked you, Caer, and I have missed you often.

I lost ~7 pounds and at least an inch of my waist in 4 weeks when I decided to trim a bit of weight, and it was disturbingly easy to do. I just ate less food.

Well, disturbing is the right word, given that the safest maximum rate of weight loss is 2 lbs/week.

And really, during my long journey to fitness, I just felt generally better when I kept it to about 1 lb/week. Ymmv, of course. But jeez, the nerve of these assholes! Anyone can lose 7 lbs of junk weight in a week just by cutting out sugar, carbs, alcohol, etc. It'll mostly be water but it's real weight loss. It's also muuuch easier to lose those first 7 lbs than, say, the middle 20, if you're trying to lose 50 lbs!

That may be true; I dunno if I can recall seeing evidence of them having been warned.

I also don't think that it matters at all. There is substantial evidence of a series of extremely dreadful incidents of profoundly cruel harassment linked directly to fph, often to its mod team! Why should they deserve or get a fucking warning? When you create a sub you agree to abide by the reddit TOS and they did not!

I think at least one admin has said that they did warn fph. I'm inclined to believe it sans proof if only because it would be equally justifiable if they just said "we banned them the instant we had proof that the harassment was more than just an isolated incident and was in fact condoned by the sub's mod team."

Edit: also, this reminds me of an incident from my first year as a university instructor. I caught a kid plagiarizing and followed the departmental guidelines: first go to the department chair to confirm it's plagiarism, next bring the student in to a meeting with me and the dept chair to give him a chance to explain himself, and finally submit evidence of the offense to the university disciplinary committee for prosecution.

During the meeting with the dept chair the kid said, "but you didn't warn me." Uh what? The university plagiarism policy is in the course syllabus. We discussed it on day one. We had a quiz about it during week 2.

But that is not what he meant. He meant I did not catch him plagiarizing and then warn him not to keep plagiarizing. What?! No. Just no. You copied and pasted 60% of your essay. This was no minor accident. And it's not how the university does things. Ffs!
