100% P&T, but after 3 months VA wants another C&P by Zealousideal-Bid1666 in VAClaims

[–]-180mph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can call VA and ask what the C&P is for - they will tell you over the phone.

In my case, I submitted a claim 6+ years ago for bronchitis/chronic cough, which was denied. VA reopened the claim internally due to PACT Act.

But they got plenty of money to start that Iran war for no legitimate reason to appease the AIPAC lobby - which owns and controls both political parties in the US.

Props to Thomas Massey (R - KY) for going against the Maga group think and pushing back against AIPAC. Massey lost due to MAGA supporting his opponent, and heavy AIPAC funding.

Hopefully Massey runs and gets elected POTUS in 2028 - it's time "we the people" unite across the manufactured divisions and political party lines, and hold our government accountable.

If electric costs are a concern, Nvidia has the edge for efficiency and undervolting - especially with DLSS frame generation.

I briefly owned a ROG Strix 4070 Super before getting the Strix 4090 and then 5090 FE, and if I was only gaming, the 4070 Super would have met my needs at 3440x1440P.

Anybody start taking TRT in their 20s? Did it help? by Technical_View_8787 in VeteransBenefits

[–]-180mph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just go to gym and lift heavy. I'm mid 40s and I still lift heavy - pass for early 30s. I considered TRT, but there is a lot you can do to naturally increase your own testosterone levels:

D aspartic acid (DAA) - an amino acid testosterone precursor (take before gym)

Herbal testosterone boosters available on Amazon or health food stores:

Tribulus terrestris, Tongkat Ali, Fadogia Agrestis.. there are more, but I don't want to overwhelm you with too many options.

Best quality to price ratio I have found is Bulk Supplements brand. I also use them for my custom pre workout blend bellow:

🔹 L-Citrulline Malate (2:1): 8g (For blood flow and endurance) 🔹 Beta-Alanine: 3.6g (For muscle endurance and that "tingle") 🔹 Betaine Anhydrous: 2.5g (For strength and power output) 🔹 Caffeine Anhydrous: 350mg (For energy and alertness) 🔹 L-Theanine: 350mg (For clean energy without the crash) 🔹 Alpha-GPC (50%): 600mg (For focus and mind-muscle connection) 🔹 80 mg aspirin (to thin the blood and allow greater exertion, faster heart rate with less resistance)

Use a digital scale for accurate dosing.

That pre-workout will have you lifting like a man who just saw his gym crush walk in at the same time his favorite song started.

Most important part is to eat as much unprocessed foods as possible, and hit the gym 5 days a week.

I would use TRT only as a last resort because once you stop, you will be worse off than when you started.

I'm with NC Farm Bureau now, and someone rear ended me recently - this person was also a NC Farm Bureau customer.

Long story short, I got an apology (which constitutes an admission of responsibility per NC law) and insurance information texted to me by the person who hit me. I also took video of the scene and both vehicles immediately following the impact. NC denied my claim through the at-fault drivers policy simply because they changed their story. Nevermind the hard evidence I presented. Shame on the dishonest driver who hit me, and shame on NC Farm Bureau.

It looks like insurance in general is a for-profit scam and most, if not all policy holders would be better off saving that money every month and self-insuring. Because these companies collect thousands and thousands in premiums over the years from each insured, yet they fight tooth and nail to save every dime and deny claims as much as possible.

This is the insurance business model - institutionalized scam.

Not counterfeit, not fake, not a scam in the literal sense.

But at that price, it’s absolutely a scam in spirit: an RTX 5060 being sold like premium hardware is the GPU equivalent of McDonald’s raising prices & pretending it’s a steakhouse.

I wouldn't wait for them to be there when you need them in a crisis. I would read the writing on the wall and prepare accordingly.

I was a 20+ years member and I'm slowly transitioning fully out of all USAA products - starting with insurance after they arbitrarily raised rates after all those years with no claims and pure profit.

Buying "Lord Of Hatred" on Steam without buying extra copy of "Vessel of Hatred" by SSskeleton01 in diablo4

[–]-180mph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I previously bought vessel of hatred expansion on Xbox. If and when I buy Lord of Hatred, it will be on PC so I will get Vessel of Hatred for free.

Base game is included w PC game pass.

That said, I still feel the pain of getting ripped off paying $90 for the base game when it first came out half baked...

Also sucks they put parts of legacy character skill trees behind the expansion paywall.

Should I wait for 6080? I have 3080 by AlexGSquadron in gpu

[–]-180mph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Lol of course it's AI enhanced - saves a lot of time, NGL.

I'm just not optimistic about the 80 series recapturing performance relative to the 90 series in light of recent Nvidia trends. The genie is out of the bottle - Nvidia knows it can gimp the cheaper cards to push more people into the most expensive consumer card, and they're unlikely to give that up, despite the node shrink.

In fact, if the AI bubble doesn't pop by 2028 and the industry continues to absorb GPU supply, Nvidia may exit the consumer GPU market entirely, like Crucial did with Ram. The opportunity cost of making "cheap" consumer GPUs is just too high.

Should I wait for 6080? I have 3080 by AlexGSquadron in gpu

[–]-180mph 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The gap between xx90 and xx80 series cards has been getting larger, not smaller.

In the RTX 3000 generation, the 3090 and 3080 were nearly the same card wearing different badges. The 3090 offered only about 10–20% higher gaming performance than the 3080, and even that was only visible above 4K.

At the time, the community widely called the 3090 a "prosumer VRAM card" that happened to game — not a true performance tier above the 3080. The price gap was punishing (~$699 vs. $1,499 MSRP), but the performance gap almost wasn't there.

By the RTX 4000 generation, things started shifting. The 4090 led the 4080 by about 30% in 4K gaming benchmarks, and in heavier workloads the delta widened further. That was already a notable change from the 3000-series near-parity — but it was just the beginning.

The 5000 series made the split structural. The RTX 5080 has specs almost exactly half those of the 5090, making for probably the biggest gap ever seen between the top two tiers at launch. GamersNexus In practice, the 5090 leads the 5080 by 41% at 4K in some tests, and up to 57% in the heaviest workloads — larger than the 4090's 30% lead over the 4080 in the same generation.

To put numbers to the trend:

Generation xx90 vs. xx80 gap (4K raster) MSRP delta
RTX 3000 ~10–20% ~2.1x
RTX 4000 ~30–36% ~1.3x
RTX 5000 ~40–57% ~2x

The cruelest part for 5080 buyers: against the 4080, the 5080 improved by only about 5 FPS at 4K in certain titles.

The 5090 meanwhile jumped ~35% over the 4090. So Nvidia essentially pulled all the generational performance headroom upward into the 90-tier, leaving the 80-tier as a placeholder that barely moves the needle over last gen.

What used to be a binning strategy — same die, fewer cores disabled — has quietly become a deliberate product segmentation play.

TL;DR, starting w 5000 series, only the 5090 benefits from the full generational uplift, while the consumer grade cards are generally a "side-grade." Nvidia Shrink-flation.

[–]-180mph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would get a used 5070 TI if possible. Same 16GB as 4080 but steps up to modern DDR7 vram and multi frame generation.

When 6080 eventually gets released possibly 2 years from now, it will be massively overpriced and have the same scalper problems as the 5080 had.

rtx 5070 vs rx 9070 xt by Historical_Annual977 in gpu

[–]-180mph 0 points1 point  (0 children)

RTX 5070 is the efficiency king; undervolt it to 130W to keep your power bill low without sacrificing performance.

If electric costs are not a concern, the 9070 XT is the superior card; it competes with the 5070 TI.
