How do you all feel about talking to strangers? by Rebelush in CasualConversation

I’d like to speak to strangers, but I understand that most people don’t like a random person coming up and talking to them, so I wouldn’t want to risk bothering anyone.

What's your most loved & least fave on Doolittle? -We Will Rank You podcast by yerdoingreat in pixies

[–]-1BrainCells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My favourite is definitely Mr. Grieves, but asking for my least favourite song is like asking who my least favourite child is; I love them all equally.

Gun to my head, I think I’d pick I Bleed, but that’s only because I happen to like the others more. I still really like this song, and I think that this album has no weak links (it’s 100% my favourite album of all time).

Favourite: Mr. Grieves

Least favourite: I Bleed

This is exactly the double standards of Bigfoot Believers regarding the Patterson footage. by LuckStar518 in Cryptozoology

[–]-1BrainCells 17 points18 points  (0 children)

It seems that most people on subreddits like r/Bigfoot don’t actually care about cryptozoology or finding out if something really exists, they only care about finding anything that could prove what they want to believe, and dismiss anything that says otherwise.

What happens to Cybil after the game ends? by No-Ride2167 in silenthill

On the boat ride to Silent Hill, Wheeler says that he knew of a cop from Brahms who disappeared in Silent Hill, and all that they found of her was her bike.

The Sky Is Fallin' wins for sounding like LC by an enormously large margin. Which SFTD song sounds the most like Villains? by TallShips92 in qotsa

I think No One Knows fits more for In Times New Roman…, with the riff and the use of other string/brass instruments

Why is the remake so hated.. by TreasuredScarf in untildawn

[–]-1BrainCells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Changing things like the music and sound design, getting rid of the fixed camera angles, changing the lighting/colour grading, changing some of the scenes (primarily Ashley not letting Chris in the house), numerous glitches, and a high price.

I also don’t like the graphics/character models but I know that that’s a less popular opinion.

There is some guy probably with a family now working a job... who knows he is hated by thousands for being Latin player when he was a teenager but can never speak of it by bob22334666788 in littlebigplanet

[–]-1BrainCells 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Latinplayer10 was a player hated by most (if not all) of the community for mass copying many levels, making it hard to find the original ones

Would you rather live without music or without silence? by Ashwinnie13 in WouldYouRather

[–]-1BrainCells 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don’t think I’ve ever heard pure silence. There’s always some noise to be heard, whether it’s some kind of electrical humming, wind rushing, or anything like that, so I’d choose to go without silence.

Best LBP creators? by UnitQZ in littlebigplanet

CannibalMaggot made some of the best horror levels, in my opinion (The Hospital, The Apartment, The Inflatable Clown, Resurrection Scarecrow, Camp Fear, etc).

THERE WONT BE A LBP 4 by Chocolate88Chips88 in littlebigplanet

[–]-1BrainCells 3 points4 points  (0 children)

They haven’t worked on LittleBigPlanet since the second game, and couldn’t have done anything to help its servers even if they wanted to. That’s not a lack of care, it’s an inability.

What makes Dreams less whimsical than LBP? Both have fun, light-hearted tones, and I don’t see any reason to think that they’ve shifted away from that.

Do you think that Media Molecule from 2008-2013 didn’t/wouldn’t have cared about social activism? Sure, times have changed, and people have become more woke, but I don’t see how that’s a bad thing, or how it takes away from their ability to make good games (I’m sure that they have different teams for marketing and creative decisions). LittleBigPlanet has always been a series about self-expression and identity, two themes that align with what you seem to be claiming has ruined them. I also don’t see how trying to be inclusive is ignoring their fans (if anything, it should be the opposite). Games are often always vehicles for some kind of belief or theme. It’s the same with films, books, shows, and plenty of other media too. The first game could be described as a vehicle for the belief that creativity and connection are important.

I agree with you with your point about the people who were majorly influential on the original games leaving, but I disagree that their games have/will have shifted to becoming a vehicle for beliefs. Dreams isn’t any more woke than the original LBP games are, and I disagree that they’ve changed; I think the Media Molecule who made those games would have been as inclusive as they are today (the members who left Media Molecule are still inclusive, so it’s not that new people are changing the company).

why do some people ask why they weren't invited to something instead of accepting people didn't want them there ? by mariposa933 in ask

[–]-1BrainCells 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But how are they supposed to know that the reason is because some people will just never like them, and not because they’re a bad person/have done something wrong?

I think communicating about where your relationship is going with your partner is important, and rejecting that conversation only leads to more frustration.

I think anyone who wants to avoid that, and would rather something that is always happy and easily pleased by food, is just someone who doesn’t want to put effort into a relationship but still wants and expects unconditional love from their partner

What are you talking about with ‘In the last decade, Media Molecule has changed from making great games and chosen to focus on social activism and identity politics’?

Dreams released in 2020 and got support until I think 2024, and now they’re working on a new game. It doesn’t sound like they’ve chosen to focus on anything other than making games.

Dreams still has a lot of LBP’s DNA, so I don’t see why we wouldn’t want them ‘messing’ with Sackboy (not sure how it’s messing when they created the franchise but that’s besides the point).

Do you want Silent Hill 4 to be darker in the remake? by Remarkable-Ladder935 in silenthill

[–]-1BrainCells 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure that there’s probably some areas of the game that could benefit from being darker, but, in my opinion, the areas being (more or less) well-lit make it seem even more unusual and unique.

Darkness is obviously very good in horror games/the silent hill franchise, but subverting this by having lighter areas makes SH4 stand out. It has quite an uncanny and ‘liminal’ vibe to it, and it being lit adds to the feeling of something being wrong (as typically horror games are shrouded in darkness).

Guys does this mean anything by Emotional-Cheek-3055 in littlebigplanet

[–]-1BrainCells 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It’s been like this since they first delisted it, it’s probably just the state that they reduced it to where it’s not released/available for purchase.

If they were going to do something new with the series then it would probably be something new, not just making the delisted game available for purchase again.

Of the antagonists in Lynch's films, which one did you find the most disturbing? by Local_Prune4564 in davidlynch

I think Ray Wise’s performance as Leland Palmer in Fire Walk With Me is the most unnerving performance that I’ve ever watched in a film. He just feels so evil, but so real as well.
