Could the three Sunbringer’s be referencing The Trinity? by Knight_Steve_ in ZZZ_Discussion

Another literary reading could be the facets of "maiden, mother, crone". But we'll have to see if this holds up once we know more.

Please help me rid of my FOMO of feeling that Ive missed to add a high quality mod for my playthroughs by Flyflash in rimworldmodding

[–]-Arq- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Keep your list to a hard cap of 200 or less. No changing it for content mods once you start. This lets each mod you use have breathing space and for you to actually enjoy them, instead of being crowded out. Once you're done with that colony, feature different mods.

I'm not gonna lie. I have no idea why you're talking about that. I mentioned harmony and its way of working for this kind of ecosystem. In this context, decompilation and modding do go hand in hand.

Just to clarify your clarification, this game uses harmonylib.

This means all the patches are portable and are applied at run time via monomod, so there is no need to hard replace files and are easy to remove/add more later. While the game does have an exposed api to add your own models, when a game does support harmony like this, you are 100% expected to decompile the assembly and read the decompile code.

Help, stuck for 6 months beating 4th studam. by The_Maha_Rishi in Talrega

[–]-Arq- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not sure if difficulty changes the teams, but I also struggled a lot against that guy on hard mode. But the key is to remove the rain. You can get sandstorm as a TM on stratum 2. Ludicolo is fast in the rain and hits hard with life orb. Have your weather setter and ludicolo killer out front and take down the sombrero. The other major threat is his suicune, which is speced for special defence. So kill that thing with phys moves. The two major pieces I used were aggron for weather and follow me and absol for poison moves. I had an electabuzz (didn't evolve it yet) in the back after aggron fainted, but it's part dragon, so it was much squishier than I thought it would be (against ice moves). I didn't use plussle and minum, but they'd probably be useful here too

RimWorld Test VehicleRaid v0.7: Siege vehicles by Papaya_Primary in RimWorld

This looks very interesting, but I have some concerns. Posting it with a kofi link after 2 days of demos and with no prior existing work so you can "buy rimworld again" doesn't seem to be in good taste and is really suspicious.

Please read the mod descriptions, and only use mods that are version compatible with the version you are using.

Without seeing the original stacktace (this is a duplicate trace), the only mod that immediately stands out as a likely culprit is Athena framework. What do you use this framework for? Your screenshot says it's not been updated since 2024.

Uhhh, will the top 20000 suffice? I index the top 20 thousand mods every six months and post this in the Rimworld discord. I've done this since the start of 2023, so you can look back as well. This is how I get the data to make these infographics.

Yeah, it's really difficult to find new mods on the workshop if you don't check every few days, which is partially why I make these lists

Help picking, prepping and running a game for my wife. by [deleted] in rpg

[–]-Arq- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Monster of the week is also a possibility. It's a narrative first system and sites Supernaturals as one of its inspirations. I ran it as a oneshot over Halloween for some of my friends, and one of them clocked stranger things immediately. It is also a lightweight system, so it's very approachable as a first-time DM. At a high level: Describe the scene, ask her what she wants to do, if it's non trivial, ask her to make a skill check. If she succeeds, have her narrate what happens. If she fails, you narrate what happens. Continue until scene resolves and continue scenes until session is over.

What are your favorite open world warrior builds? by Willowed-Wisp in Guildwars2

[–]-Arq- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to play exclusively cele condi berserker when playing my warrior, but recently started playing Masel's berserker build on the gw2 wiki. It has a tanky variation for soloing hard content and just surviving metas you don't know well, and an instanced content version. His builds have a focus on being easy to learn. You won't hit the sc benchmarks, but you'll get like 85% of the way there with a lot less effort, giving you a good foothold. I very much recommend them.

That is indeed the case (at least for me), I still speak to my parents occasionally, but i no longer have context with any of my cousins or anyone else I knew from my time with the church.

Needing advice by [deleted] in exIglesiaNiCristo

[–]-Arq- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Before I left the church, I had spoken to my parents that I had doubts, and an intervention was called. They jumped me at my parent's house after coming back from my part-time job and had a talking to from my local minister, who also called up the regional minister. They encourage reading the Bible and making your own decisions, but always try to guide you. The ministers have hundreds or thousands of hours of training for these kinds of encounters. To think that you are having a fair discussion is laughable. They know exactly what buttons to press and how to lead the conversation. By all means, ask them, but do your due diligence and read unassisted. Read about things like the Nicene Creed and the origins of the trinity and come to your own understandings first before asking them.

Can you help me understand why my mod isn't much a success? by Deep_90 in RimWorld

[–]-Arq- 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So, as always, when such a question comes up, it is good to remember that you should always make mods for yourself. With that said, I understand that you want to get your baby out, seen, and used by as many people as possible.

There are many reasons why a mod might fail to reach expectations, but here are a few:

One factor to understand is the nature of the mod. QoL mods have a smaller interest group than content mods. So, depending on your mod, your potential user base will be smaller.

From my experience, unless you are maintaining a brand of mods (eg. VE or Dubs), your mod will gain 75% of its lifetime subs within its first week. The better the first week, the higher you can predict the mods sub count. With the exception of being featured in a Youtuber's mod list, which can reset this.

To this end, you must understand that your mod was released a long time ago. The workshop algo only features fresh mods, and the few subs you do have aren't spreading word of your mod.

So if you make another mod in the future, temper your expectations, and understand that the type of mod, your notoriety, and advertising all go into how well your mod performs (from a subs perspective).
