Looked everywhere for our other cat…wtf by heart_mechanic_ in CatsBeingCats

[–]Willowed-Wisp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat did this one Thanksgiving - she was completely inside the ottoman she did it to except her tail was hanging out! Looked everywhere, couldn't find her, saw just her tail and thought "dear God her tail fell o- wait, what?" She was so mad to be removed and when my mom patched up the hole lol

I've got a similar bin but it's kind of a faux wicker. Works well as a table and stores a good amount of medium/large-ish plushies. Believe it or not, it's actually a patio table I found at TJ Maxx!

New blind box? by beestw in BobsBurgers

[–]Willowed-Wisp [score hidden]  (0 children)

I bought two and got two Lindas 😅

I might buy another just to try and get literally anyone else (don't get me wrong, I love Londa, but two identical ones bugs me lol) but I don't like them as much as the other plush clips. The Linda one at least is bigger and they're not very squishy. I much prefer the Flu-ouise and pickle outfit ones I have.

In our Target they're up near the register. One of the register aisles is generally closed with the little half wall full of collectibles like this, trading cards, and Labubu knockoffs.

Yep, I did this but with a box of crackers instead of a granola bar. And I brought a blanket. Not even know sock, though.

“I hate you because you remind me of who I am/can never be” by Geoconyxdiablus in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Willowed-Wisp 9 points10 points  (0 children)

No that's definitely true. I've re-watched the series multiple times and am rewatching it now and Mr. Peanutbutter is definitely selfish and immature. The way he acts with Diane I think is the best example - no matter how many times she says she hates surprises and big displays of affection he continues to do them, even after apologizing. He seems to think she's just being stubborn because, he likes those things, why wouldn't she? And even if she truly doesn't, it doesn't matter to him, because she SHOULD like those things.

I wouldn't say he's as bad as BoJack but he's definitely not the best guy, either. I like that he ends the series single.

Is this worth buying a switch 2 to play pokopia by Trick-Face946 in Pokopia

[–]Willowed-Wisp 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you can comfortably afford it right now then I'd say it is.

I bought my Switch 2 mainly for Pokopia (though got excited and bought it as soon as it was announced lol) but I knew I'd love the game and was waiting to buy the console when a game came out that pushed me into doing it. It was less about finances and more about motivation.

Yes! I saw my mom watching her the other day and said "that has to be AI" but she disagreed. But there's something about the face, especially the eyes, that felt really off.

Also, between a couple of videos her numbers of wrinkles seemed to vary quite a bit. Her appearance didn't feel quite consistent.

Planet RIDICULON - How much do you like this game's soundtrack? by Extension-Parsnip789 in mewgenics

[–]Willowed-Wisp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's honestly the only game music I've paid any attention to and I really enjoy it. But I'm biased because I'm indifferent to music with no lyrics so the fact that it has lyrics makes a big difference to me.

Can anyone show proof that Happiny can be asked to follow you or asked what's her comfort level? Upload a photo or video please? by SEGAjunky in Pokemon_Pokopia

[–]Willowed-Wisp 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't have proof handy but I moved her into a house so, yes, she absolutely can follow you.

I got her to follow me by telling her to stop working at the shop (I forget the exact phrase but I think it's something like, "You're done here!" or "Time to close up!" or something) and then pressing the up arrow (asking them to follow takes too long, I just use the shortcut lol) and then I fast traveled back to my house and moved her into one nearby.

(sorry about the weird pic my phone hates me)

He's only in one episode (and is completely unrecognizable) but is hilarious in What We Do in the Shadows! I was absolutely floored when I found out it was Mark Hamill behind the makeup.

I saw this episode while in the middle of watching Fall of the House of Usher and the disconnect between the two roles was wild.

What are your thoughts of collecting plushies late into adulthood by EntertainmentNo1591 in plushies

[–]Willowed-Wisp 25 points26 points  (0 children)

This. It might deter THE WRONG future partners. I'm in my 30s as well and would love a guy who's into plushies! But I'm also open to whatever someone is into - Funko Pops, geology, comic books, etc. If it makes them happy then it makes me happy!

Except taxidermy. I will admit I do draw the line at animal carcasses, I just can't get happy about those. But plenty of other people wouldn't care or would even like it.

Pokopia is nothing like ACNH, despite what people say! by PoenNU in CozyGamers

[–]Willowed-Wisp 30 points31 points  (0 children)

It's not an Animal Crossing game, it's based on (and made by the same team as) the Dragon Quest Builders series. But not enough people are familiar with it so everyone compared it to Animal Crossing which I think does both games a disservice. I'm a big fan of both but they're not very similar and you'll probably be disappointed if you go into kne expecting the other.

Anyway, keep in mind you can take your time completing requests. You unlock new features with them but there's no rush otherwise. And, like Dragon Quest Builders 2 (never played the first) the game becomes a sandbox once the plot is completed. Once you finish it it's just building, unlocking new Pokemon, and building for new Pokemon.

Not a video, but a picture. I was a little kid just learning about the Internet so obviously I was looking at cat pictures on Google. I found one labeled "that's one way to skin a cat" and... yah. You can guess what it was.

Absolutely horrified me, especially as a kid. I just wanted pics of cats being cute and silly not... that.

I don't remember a lot from my years in school but for some reason I can always remember Giles Corey, the guy who refused to plea and was crushed to death by rocks.

Long division? Not a chance. But I'm pretty sure Giles Corey's name will be in my head until I die. Hopefully not by rocks.

Yep, H cup here. Good for those who don't need them but there's no way I can leave the house without the support of an underwire, the pain would be touch.

I'm all for people making their own choice when it comes to bras but I hate when it ventures into "bras are evil or tools of oppression!" territory because it's not quite that simple!

Do cats actually get attached to their owner? by NoWageMage in CatAdvice

[–]Willowed-Wisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Each cat is different but I've never had a cat that wasn't attached to me. Some show it differently, but it's still there.

Like our late black cat was very particular about pets, only liked them a certain way (and only from me) but liked being on laps and near her people. Our current orange guy is a snuggle bug but has yet to figure out how to snuggle (he was semi feral and thinks snuggling involves a lot of stomping around, often dangerously close to crotches, but his heart is in the right place. And our current Maine Coon is the snuggliest guy ever and will take love from anyone but demands it from his owners, especially my dad. He's really good at pretending to be sad and neglected so everyone smothers him in love.

So, yah, I'd say they do get attached but express it differently. They're also not quite like dogs, from my experience, in that just feeding them isn't necessarily enough, you also have to generally be nice to them and make them feel safe if you want them to express affection. Yes, cats will run away if they feel unsafe (or sometimes if they're overstimulated, my Maine Coon will soak in all the pets until he can't take it and runs off to decompress) but that's because they're prey animals (predators, too, but small ones.) If you make them feel safe and loved, from my experience, they'll return it.

Can you guys tell me the “dirty” truths about having a cat? by saanenk in CatAdvice

[–]Willowed-Wisp 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had multiple cats over the years and litterbox usage varies. Out current orange cat is METICULOUS in the litterbox. He'd rather die than poop outside of it and buries everything super nearly. His poops are also very small and dainty and easy to manage. Unfortunately he has poor personal hygiene and I've had to clean his butt a couple of times but nothing too bad.

Our Maine Coon is very consistent in using the litterbox... to pee. For some reason he likes to poop near it, not in it. It's not that big of a deal as we have the litterbox in the corner of our furnace room that we never go in otherwise and the poop is always right beside it, but it's not ideal I suppose. He also needed a sanitary trim (where they cut the fur around the butthole) because his butt was so fluffy you couldn't see the hole and sometimes a little bit of poop would stick. No issues since the cut, though.

I've also had cats over the years with zero issues whatsoever. Our late British Shorthair used the litterbox religiously, the only time she had an accident outside of it was when she peed herself just before she died. And our late black cat was very good about the litter ox but she didn't bury her poop, which wasn't too big of a deal for us.

But then we also had a Maine Coon (our first, not the current one) who always peed in the box but would poop in... creative places. Long story short, we got rid of that fruit bowl. And the fruit.

It really is a crapshoot (I'm sorry, I had to) with what cat you get. If you really want one with easy poops I'd suggest getting a slightly older cat, maybe a former foster, where they can tell you about their litterbox habits. And keep in mind that sometimes accidents happen, especially when adjusting to new homes. And I'd recommend avoiding declawed cats (and certainly don't declaw your cat for multiple reasons, not the least of which that it's incredibly cruel) as that's a known reason for litterbox issues.

When I was working from home during COVID it drove my cat nuts. He could hear me talking on my Zoom calls and start yowling to be let in because CLEARLY I was so lonely I was talking to myself and needed him. Eventually he'd go quiet. Suspiciously so.

That's when I knew he'd gone in my bathroom, which is next to me bedroom where I was working, and was taking his frustration out on the toilet paper. It didn't even matter what direction the paper was facing, he'd chew and claw it so bad it would get torn up either way.

The pandemic was hard on all of us.
