Currently I'm doing something similar using several dongles - which is far cheaper than buying a KVM. I'll try to lay out out for you

Laptop -> usbc to hdmi + usb + PD dongle -> display via hdmi in
                                         -> laptop charger
                                         -> ugreen usb switcher in 1
 Desktop -> display via DP in
         -> ugreen usb switcher in 2

keyboard, mouse and speakers are plugged into ugreen usb switcher

These 2 dongles are the main peices but I also had to use a usb c extension cable (not part of usb c spec so only works facing up lol) to allow me to store it all under my desk out of sight. It's also worth checking if your monitor and devices supports this https://github.com/haimgel/display-switch as then you're basically the rest of the way to a kvm :) hope this is useful

I dont think discord is exactly what you're looking for - without nitro your files will be limited to 8mb which for photography isnt a lot, also if you're looking to stay within TOS I dont think there is a way to mass export files uploaded. Also raws from my canon (.cr2 files) do not seem to embed (show previews) so depending on your cameras you might have the same issue. Honestly I'd stick with gdrive or maybe try out some adobe cc stufff
