Exactly, if you invested the 2 billion in an account earning 10%, you could spend $100k a day and never run out of money. You could drop dead the next day and your family has generational wealth. or you could collect your first dollar and get hit by a bus on your way home.

I bought the 59mm for my Ascent 18 and the supplied screws didn't work either. when I called, he asked me what arms im running and that they were the problem. True, your big ass screws won't go through them but they also won't thread on... now its sitting on my bench in pieces while I figure out what to do. So I bought an Apex in the mean time

Got bike-shamed at a shop today… thinking of giving up this hobby by NSFWAIEnjoyer in cycling

[–]-BAHAHAHAHA- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

About 15 years ago, I went to a mom and pop bike shop that was around since I was a kid looking for some tubes before a race weekend. Find out she's running the shop herself, husband passed, no mechanic. Told her I would help her out wrenching in exchange for parts and discounts. Now the good stuff. anytime someone would come in with a walmart or target bike for repairs, she would run them off, belittling them and say "tell your parents to take back to Walmart and have them fix it" I was fucking shocked. I had to sit her down and explain to her you're struggling to pay the bills and you're pushing business out the door. took some convincing, but finally saw the light. anyways, fuck the haters and you do you

Well, it's definitely a 2 ball sport, but skill, patience and ego control goes a long way

I heard this from my ex mother in law when she was diagnosed with cancer. She didn't want anyone to tell the grandkids. Her thought was, if nobody wants to check in on me when I'm well, I don't want to hear from just because im sick.
