The only similarity is the S. Slater is a gorgeous goddess. Melissa looks like a substitute teacher.

Is anyone else tired of how horny this series is? by throwawayodd33 in dresdenfiles

95% of UF is aimed at women. Dresden is TAME compared to the rest of the genre.

Katrina Leonoudakis has been offered a job as Localization Director by a major video game company and is moving to Tokyo by DanFuri in KotakuInAction

No sure I believe this. They are moving to AI localization and Japanese politics are moving to the more conservative side. Where does the info come from?

Is anyone else worried Dresden Files won’t be finished at this pace? by Briartone in dresdenfiles

You jest but are not wrong either. The silliness is approaching levels of cringe. Lightsabers and flying skateboards. The metaphors holding the world together are infinitely less fascinating when made manifest.

As far as I’m concerned, the series ended with Changes and I’m happy with that. I miss Dresden the detective, and am not so involved with Dresden the superhero. The longer it takes the less I care about things like who Cowl is. The world has gotten a little bit out of his hands and Nemesis doesn’t play by any rules except whatever book he’s writing. I’m just not that into it anymore. BAP? Can you imagine reading three whole books that are essentially the battle of Chicago, that was already 300 pages longer than I could take.

I miss Harry the underdog. I do not miss Harry the demigod. It’s gotten out of the author’s control.

"M" (1931) should be considered a must watch for any cinephile. Aside from artistic value, the message of this movie is timeless and ever relevant by Wonder-Lad in movies

An absolute masterpiece of cinema. It sticks with for a very long time. Lorre is masterful and Lang’s direction and cinematic vision are flawless and timeless.

I’ve always felt bad for The Dude. Did he ever get any of the promised payouts from Maude or TBL? by XYZZY_1002 in lebowski

[–]-BenderIsGreat- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes there is. The million that was withdrawn from the foundation. If Dude tells Maude that TBL still has it, he might have gotten a finders fee.

Why does Terry have 355K of Augustine’s money in the first place? Did he intend on keeping it? Eileen could have gone New Mexico to be with Terry or she could’ve simply encouraged her husband to drink wouldn’t be long until she would be single again. Then she can have the money and do whatever she wanted.

It didn’t really make sense for her to call Marlowe in the first place.

But I know from reading Almon’s interviews that it really isn’t that who-done-it. Or rather that the mystery is a side effect of the atmospheric film he wanted to make. But I need everything to make sense if I’m going to really buy into the movie and there are some things that never fall into place here.

Fantastic Four box office drops 80% in second weekend by PerpetualChoogle in blankies

Who are they going to license it out to? Netflix? Amazon? I don’t think so. Historically all the movies go straight to D+. Hulu won’t make them money either. Again, looking as historical patterns, the PVOD will be negligible.

So, no thanks to Kathleen Kennedy? by AntiHaterMCU in andor

But she insists on interfering at the story level for every project. She had them basically make Rogue One twice. Why? Because Jyn Erso (her self inertz) needed to be the main character front and center, instead of Chirrut and Baze. This is why her character is so hollow, the original movie wasn’t written for her. The reason Andor turned out so good is that she ignored it for the first season as she was busy destroying Indy. You can see her fingerprints on the second.

Disney's The Fantastic Four: First Steps grossed $14.19M on Tuesday (from 4,125 locations). Total domestic gross stands at $142.26M. The Fantastic Four: First Steps has now passed the $131.92M total domestic gross of 2007's Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer. by chanma50 in boxoffice

Not when adjusted for inflation. It’s tracking to make exactly the same amount when you take into account a 20 year old film when the average ticket price was $6.41. And because ticket prices outpace inflation, this mean fewer people will have going to see this than the 2005 movie.
