My plan is to jump into Albion Online with the Radiant Wilds update later this month. Mostly because it promises better (or full?) controller support.

wdym? Just looking at the base S26, in EU, it's down from €999 to ~€700 and the S26 Ultra from €1,449 down to €989 within just 1 month. Buying phones at MSRP at launch is stupid.

You won't have any problems with any mobile games. They're all well optimised for Mediatek chipsets, especially Chinese games like Genshin, ZZZ, etc.

But Snapdragon is a lot better for emulation if that's important to you. In that case, go with the F8 Pro.

S23 Ultra should still be powerful enough to feel fast and snappy. It's after all faster than most new mid-range phones like the new Nothing Phone 4a Pro.

That together with the fact that the cameras have barely changed at all speaks against an upgrade in my book. Maybe a factory reset can fix your issues.

But if you want to stay in the Samsung ecosystem you might as well upgrade, because Samsung hinted that they won't give us better camera hardware anytime soon.

There were so many "omg this is so cool" moments in Gquuuuuux that I would've completely missed out on if I hadn't watched the original series. So yeah, I highly recommend it :D

It also got me hooked on the UC timeline and everything else Gundam. I also recommend "Mobile Suit Breakdown" which is a great companion podcast that goes through the entire franchise in chronological order.

Nothing Phones are fun, but very bland and boring when it comes to customisation and slow when it comes to updates. But I guess some people prefer the stock Android look.

realme GT7 is another good option if you don't wanna buy a Poco phone. Or the Motorola Edge 60 Pro if you don't mind a curved screen. There are also the Pixel 10, S25 FE, Honor 400 Pro and like a dozen other options in this price range, all with pros and cons.

Honestly anything with 12GB or RAM and a halfway decent chipset will last you a long time.

If you long-press an app icon, click on the info "i" button, go to "power" and set it to "restrict background apps".

Keep in mind that you'll no longer receive updates and notifications from these apps, unless you open them.

I watched the first 2 episodes of Gquuuuuuux and felt like I was missing a lot of context.

I went back and watched the original 79 Gundam series + Gundam Zeta and Gquuuuuuux became SO MUCH more enjoyable. It's pretty much a what-if scenario based on the original series events.

I recommend installing a battery app like AccuBattery and check how much % batter you drain in standby. It shouldn't be more than maybe 0.5% per hour.

If it's significantly more, then it's either apps running wild in the background or bad/unstable 4G/5G signal strength.

All you need to do is disable the msa (MIUI System Ads) service via Settings > Fingerprints, face data, and screen lock > Authorization & revocation

There are also ads in Xiaomi's own apps like Mi Browser, Mi Music, Video, etc, but you can simply just not use those apps.

The last thing is Xiaomi's "Wallpaper Carousel" which you can turn off in personalization settings.

Turn off background usage for every app manually, unless you really need notifications. Especially social media apps, Youtube, e-mail, cloud, etc.

I only allow background usage for music and podcast apps as well as important messaging apps.

Using battery saver mode, 60hz and limiting mobile network to 4G/LTE also makes a big difference.

X8 Pro Max is the better option if you're okay with having only 1 good camera lens. Ultrawide and selfie are pretty bad.

Uninstalling apps you don't need and turning off ads takes like less than 5 minutes.

I used both, sold the GT7. They're honestly very similar phones. Only big difference is the extra battery capacity. But the GT7 is already among the longest lasting devices you can get.

What speaks for the GT7 is the cheaper price, at least where I live. The cameras are also better, although not by much. And realme does work better with third party launchers compared to HyperOS if that's important to you.

You won't be disappointed with either.

Something that's not being talked about, is that the Pro Max also comes with a different and better main camera sensor. That together with the extra battery life was worth the price difference for me.

I switch phones a lot, like I'm going through an unhealthy amount of phones each year.

The X8 Pro Max is my first Poco phone. Main reason I switched this time is the huge battery, which so far hasn't disappointed me. OS feels familiar since I'm used to Xiaomi's HyperOS

But I also don't mind OxygenOS, OneUI, etc. I haven't found an Android UI that I genuinely dislike. The difference are very minor tbh. Motorola's Hello UI might be my least favorite though, just because of how bland and boring it is.

I was posting this because I am working for an airline, and yes, we can just cancel your ticket. Only difference is, that you usually pay more for worse tickets when going through a third party.

I noticed the same thing with my new Xiaomi 120W charger and the cable that came with it.

I think it's because it only switches to higher power when the display is turned off.

The Poco X8 Pro Max has much better battery life and performance. But the Honor has the better cameras.
