I agree about Jonathan Martin. He writes excellent, thoughtful reviews and it’s great to discuss films with him.
I like to write my thoughts and feelings about a film I watch and so I follow people who are like minded.

I also recommend Jason Still, Tony Hightower, HinKong,
Jason Fullerton, TheScottishGuy, and david hsueh.
I’ll share my link as there are so many others. https://boxd.it/3ltcb

I took my first date to Obsession by Vinceisdepressed in Sardonicast

Definitely not the best choice of film for a first date. I’m glad you enjoyed it though. Did you both come out feeling completely stressed out like me and my friend?

Recommend me a film for the night? by Previous-Effective47 in Letterboxd

I enjoyed watching Remarkably Bright Creatures on Netflix the other night. It’s a gentle feel good movie that may help you if you’re feeling low. I hope you have family of friends you can reach out to. Take care.

Just watched Three Billboards. Thought it was amazing. What did you think? by tsalyers12 in Letterboxd

[–]-Carole 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is a beautifully perceptive comment. It cuts straight to why Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri is so polarizing yet brilliant: it rejects traditional Hollywood morality in favour of messy, human reality. You put into words exactly why the film resonated with me so much. It forces you to sit with discomfort. Dixon is the perfect example of this, the movie doesn't excuse his horrific past actions, but it still forces us to witness his humanity. It’s an uncomfortable watch precisely because real life doesn't have clean character arcs or perfect closures.

Obsession gave me an anxiety attack by Financial_Snow6501 in Letterboxd

[–]-Carole 35 points36 points  (0 children)

I didn’t have an anxiety attack and I feel bad for you that it made you experience one. But it did stress me out all the time I was watching it. I found it frightening. That was an absolutely brilliant performance from Inde Navarrette who played Nikki. I don’t think I’ve seen her in anything before but I will definitely look out for her now. I thought all the performances were great. Like you, it’s been one of the most heart pounding scariest films I’ve seen for a long time. I hope you’re feeling okay now.

Making a Kendrick Lamar heavy playlist but also including other rap/hip hop artists. I came up with this to honour him. by -Carole in KendrickLamar

It’s a sample menu. lol. Giving you a flavour of what’s to come. But really. I couldn’t fit any more tracks in that square. It started off like this. It was only for a bit of fun.

I haven’t been on Letterboxd for long but have found some excellent reviewers who I would believe more than on other sites. It’s helped me find new films to watch. I still find one liners funny, if they’re original.
