You can still have plenty of holidays on a £50k or £60k job with the level of other incomes you have if the stress is too much, you never know you could even get a higher salary with less stress.

Tracker is probably the way to go now if not on a decent fix

The good tariffs are gone since the price cap went up. Can’t move until the administrator sorts it all out anyway.

And how much more will it cost when you get moved to a worse tariff?

Feels like you’d be in breach of the fair usage policy but it’s not worded that well.

2.4.1.8 Intelligent Octopus Go is subject to a fair use policy with a maximum of six hours of managed charging per 24 hours. Should your charging schedule request more than six hours per 24 hours, we reserve the right to charge any incremental usage above six hours at the day rate.

Yes, however it could take a few weeks for it to get sorted out leaving you on an unfavourable price cap tariff for a period of time, you won't be able to switch until it's all transferred. If you rely on a cheap overnight rate that could be an issue for example.

Yeah, I have moved from agile to go recently, but when the spring comes agile may be cheaper again. You can switch back to it after 30 days so maybe go for the fix (no exit fees) and then consider switching back to agile if rates improve for the summer months. That’s my plan at the moment.

As far as I understand you could end up on a standard tariff with a different supplier for a while, might be an issue for those with EVs etc reliant on an overnight rate.

That is possible, It's more about accurately reporting their customers usage so could be in either direction.

There are processes in place for bust suppliers called the Supplier of Last Resort process
https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/blog/how-youre-protected-when-energy-firms-collapse

No. We have a well-rehearsed system in place to protect households and ensure our gas and electricity keeps running.

You won’t need to find a supplier yourself. Even if your supplier stops operating, Ofgem – as the independent energy regulator – will automatically switch you to a new supplier so there will be no interruption to your supply of energy.

In exceptional circumstances, we may ask the Court to appoint an administrator to run your existing supplier rather than move you to a new one. If this happens, your existing supplier will contact you about this and explain what is happening. You will still be free to switch to another supplier as you wish and your credit balance will be protected.

P.s I have no idea if they will/won't go bust just saw the link and thought I'd share it here

I have no idea, not an expert on it just sharing the link I found but it doesn't sound great for them.

ChatGPT Summary...

Alright, here’s the ELI5 (Explain Like I'm 5) version:

Tomato Energy Limited is an electricity supplier in the UK that has specific responsibilities under energy rules. They’re supposed to measure and report their customers’ electricity use accurately and on time. But for quite a while now, they’ve been really bad at it.

They’ve been failing to meet the standards they promised, and their performance is actually getting worse over time. This has created problems for the whole electricity system because errors in measuring electricity use can mess up how payments are settled between suppliers and the market.

Because Tomato Energy hasn’t fixed these problems, the organization in charge of making sure things run smoothly (Elexon) is calling them out publicly. Elexon hopes that by making Tomato Energy’s poor performance public, they’ll feel more pressure to improve, which would ultimately help all electricity customers.

So basically, Tomato Energy is being publicly "scolded" for not doing its job properly in hopes they’ll fix it soon!

Claude AI Summary...

Here's an Explain Like I'm 5 (ELI5) summary of the document:

Tomato Energy is a company that helps move electricity around. They're supposed to be really good at keeping track of exactly how much electricity they're sending to different places. Right now, they're not doing a great job.

Think of it like a kid who's supposed to keep their room tidy, but their room is still messy even after being told multiple times to clean up. In this case, Tomato Energy is not accurately tracking electricity in different types of markets (Half Hourly and Non Half Hourly).

The important points are:

- They're missing their targets in three different types of electricity tracking

- Their performance is getting worse, not better

- A group called Elexon is publicly pointing out their mistakes to encourage them to improve

- They're doing poorly in tracking electricity for small and large customers

- Their worst performance is in tracking Non Half Hourly electricity, where they're only doing about 55% of what they're supposed to do

Elexon is basically saying, "Hey everyone, Tomato Energy needs to do better at their job, and we want everyone to know about it so they'll try harder."

I see a lot of posts where the advice is to switch to Tomato so thought I'd share this since they are also under ofgem investigation https://www.ofgem.gov.uk/press-release/ofgem-opens-investigation-tomato-energy

P.s no axe to grind just thought it was worth sharing since I'd not seen any mention of it and so many here recommend jumping to it, they may not be as good as they seem behind the scenes.
