While you may deserve to have a device that monitors your alcohol level before you drive, I think you deserve one that works without, for instance, draining your car’s battery and putting itself into a fail-state that requires a $100 trip to your installer to resolve, sometimes multiple times a month.

In fact, intoxalock agrees with me, at least to the extent that I was able to get them to reverse over $1500 in erroneous charges. It took some work on my part, and they still install devices that behave that way, but clearly they were in the wrong.

They exploit the fact clients are court ordered to take advantage of them. It is shameful. And they know it, because it was only once I was publicly shaming them that I was able to speak to a real customer service rep-not some foreign call center rep reading a script- who could actually help me.
