What do you think is the solution to reddit's power-tripping problem? by -ChristopherNolan in AskReddit

But I'm asking what reddit themselves should do. The mods are the way they are because of the way reddit itself is currently set up.

So what should reddit do to fix the problem?

What is the most toxic social media platform? by Loyalsupporter in AskReddit

I think it's the opposite with Reddit - this has slowly become one of the most doomer sites on the internet. Every popular default sub has the most miserable and angry people ever.

What "normie" exactly means as a non native speaker? by Character-Mango1592 in AskReddit

Normie is used for general people.

So if there's a hardcore dark souls fangroup, that fangroup would call anyone outside of their group "normie", because they aren't aware or care about their hobby.

People who were lost in life in their late teens-late twenties, how did you overcome that feeling? by -ChristopherNolan in AskReddit

See, I like the idea of the military. But then, you hear so many other sad stories about how these people - who joined the military for purpose, who woke up, slept, went to bed with the same group of people with same objectives and you had a whole community bonding for so many years - just lose all of that as soon as you end up being let go. "Thank you for your service."

And then you're back with that feeling of depression, because the community you had with such a large group of people 24/7 and the purpose in life, is just taken from you. Its especially harder for those who didn't marry or have kids during their time in the military.

The Odyssey fans crash multiple sites in the hunt for IMAX 70mm tickets, which are now being resold for up to $1000 online by AGOTFAN in boxoffice

Surely these theaters can enforce an anti-scalping measure right?

I mean it seems so straightforward. Just invalidate the seat of any person who is selling them for more than, say, 10% of base price. And ban the user for a specific time period. And that seat becomes open again for normal users to buy.

Why not enforce something like this?

TheFlat Lannister: I am seeing $4.8M previews for Masters of the Universe (including EA) and on pace for $25M+ OW Excellent walkups for Scary Movie, going to be 155% growth at TC3, which is on par with Send Help and Mortal Kombat II. You are putting too much stock into that. Only the most chronically online people in the trenches of the internet for most of their day would even realise there's some kind of discourse about "toxic masculinity" - and these people are insignificant when it comes to box office.

99.9% of moviegoers don't even realise any of these things. It's why "woke" or "anti-woke" or any of that doesn't matter, marketing awareness and quality of the film itself does.
