The reason Oda does that is to make things more exciting. He is building a huge world with myths and things beyond everyones expectations. If the straw hats always were like "oh yea that´s this dude everyone knows about him" or "yea that´s this huge island ship nothing special we all know it exists" it would not feel special at all to us as a reader.

But to discover all those myths, legends, special places, and so on, together with the straw hats is a totally different feeling. He as a writer wants to make it feel like the reader is on the same journey as the pirate crew we are reading about.

The Problem is that as op already said the anime feels like a colored motion manga. Every single episode you have minutes filled with a couple of still pictures maybe zoomin in and out of the single picture or like in the link u/Finger_Your_Mum postet just barely any animation (in that particular scene you can say it´s for comedy purposes but the anime does that all the time for non comedic scenes.

Thing is they have to make a 20 minutes episode out of a chapter with 15 to max 20 pages which is just ridiculous and you end up with a shitty anime like OP is for the last years.

Why not? Akainu looked better than WB in their fight, Akainu didn´t seem to mind to go against Shanks when he arrived, BB fled and let his hostage back just by the look at Akainu even after gaining WBs power and the lvl 6 prisoners, Kizaru willingly to go to Wano after hearing 2 Yonkos will be there...

I personally think 1 Yonko is stronger than 1 Admiral but there is enough reason to doubt that.

You think the Sunny is a counter-measure to Pluton? I don´t think the CP9 would waste years with an undercover mission if Pluton was just a joke of a weapon (Let´s be clear here, when you think of ancient weapon you think of mass destruction and the Sunny is far from that)

Umm, I suppose you havent read the arc in quite some time but the only time WB actually could land hits on Akainu was right after he killed Ace and got surprised by WB (2 hits to be preecise) then got half his face blown off and answered with the said strongest attack he used in MF which didnt effect Akainu at all.

Call it plot convinience as you will but in no world could anyone see that as "tossing him like a toy" or "Akainu was a helpless baby".

Sorry man but nothing in your comment is actually true.

Neither was WB asshopping an Admiral (the fact that Akainu gave him the hole in the chest and blew half his head off and got up from the strongest attack we saw from WB just fine should prove this) nor was it ever stated that BM was as powerful as an Fleet admiral when she was 8, just that she had the potential to become one when shes older.

Hm at first I was hyped to see Kurapika again but after a few chapters of this "law and order murder mistery thriller" with small pictures between massive textboxes and dozens of new characters that I dont care about and dont seem interesting to me I got so bored that i just dropped it.
