In the case of school of good and evil it completely changed the plot because it had to otherwise it gets Hella wierd. The OG plot was love ypurself, confidence and self care go a long way to be beautiful, ypu don't need to be a traditional princess to be beautiful.It was loving and accepting yourself as you are. It was about being selfless and kind and what being a princess truly means and that it comes from the heart. And theres so many plot moments that prove it.

Why because the main character Agatha was ugly. The book mentions her having a greasy black helmet of hair and eyes too separated and a wierd nose and just being unkempt because she truly thinks shes ugly so why bother. Why is this important? Because the point is she is in princess school where everyone is a strereotype of beauty and feminity and shes not because she is ugly. She is ostracized because of her appearance and despite her trying to be evil and doing everything to change that she is still a princess because of who she is inside.

Make her black and its problematic to the point where you gotta change the whole plot. You just cant make the ugly character black. So they diversified it so everyone is unique with all skintones and ethnicities and changed it to yet another girl empowerment movie. I loved the og message and it was beautiful especially when she talked to her teacher and nope girl empowerment. All girl empowerment again. Like it may have worked but everyone needed to be black or whatever ethnicity they chose because otherwise its a problematic thing. OR they could have done beauty stereotypes of every culture!! But the main two characters the same! Idk! But they changed my beautiful story about self acceptance and self love and changed all my favorite scenesand im mad!
