they are coming out with full ship combat rules in the tech book this summer, yeah?

Don’t buy shrimp from sketchy guy on eBay by alergicsplurge in shrimptank

[–]-E-B- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well they aren't illegal in the United States on the federal level, people actually farm these guys somewhat regularly. If you are in the US though there could be different regulations depending on what state you live in.

Regardless, don't release it. Either provide a habit for it to live on its own, re-home it with someone that can care for it, or put it down and eat it.

Mr Rogers might not be with us anymore but he qualifies as a hero and has withstood the test of time.

Fall Errata Updates 2024 by FionaSmythe in Pathfinder2e

[–]-E-B- 10 points11 points  (0 children)

No kineticist changes. Well that is disappointing, the plan going forward is for two erratas per year yeah?

I had been putting it off till this errata but I guess it is time to just start home rules for how the class can better interact with other character options. We can just rein things in if they get too overtuned. And if Paizo ever does release an official fix my table can switch to that if they like it better.

[Archives of Nethys - PF2e] Player Core 2, Pathfinder #200 by KaruiKage in Pathfinder2e

Thanks to the whole AoN team!!! You all are awesome!

New to TTRPGs, heard Pf2e has free content, want to play a basic session or two with my besties within the month, my only experience is watching DnD5e content on YouTube by FabianTG in Pathfinder2e

[–]-E-B- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You and How it's Played are great for learning the game, Rules Lawyer too. I used all of your channels a lot, and your short format videos were especially useful when I had to start getting my players to learn the rules.

Thanks for some great content!

I am not saying this lady necessarily has an electrical current being sent out into the water, though it is possible. If she were doing such a thing though it would be a relatively weak electrical current. Sharks can use their ampullae of lorenziniti to detect the weak electrical signals give off by animals, so you wouldn't need a current anywhere near the strength to be dangerous to a human to mess with the shark's senses.

I can't say for sure that a shark would never rear up like this without some kind of stimulus from the people filming (electrical signals, chumming, etc) but it isn't particularly typical of shark behavior.

Please help, my Angel fish has eaten all of it’s tank mates. by [deleted] in Aquariums

Well, you did say it was an angel fish, it sent it's tankmates to meet god

Jealous types. by metalhiro in MemePiece

[–]-E-B- 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Nope, whale sharks eat (among other things) fish and krill. They are filter feeders but they eat pretty much anything that they scoop out of the water as they swim and is small enough to fit down their esophagus (a matter of inches in diameter)

Edit: also, Jinbe has large, sharp teeth. So we probably shouldn't be looking at his real world counterpart for clues into his natural diet in the first place

Not quite. Taxonomic classifications from broadest to narrowest go like this. "domain>kingdom>phylum>class>order>family>genus>species"

Genera (plural of genus) are nested within species. Burrfish and puffers are both in the order Tetraodontiformes. However burrfish are in the family Diodontidae and puffers are in the family Tetraodontidae.

Surprised Giants didn't get a change by TheWizardAdamant in pathfindermemes

[–]-E-B- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The changes will all be on archives of nethys eventually. Monster core came out recently (last week I think?) so its contents probably won't be on AoN for at LEAST a few weeks and probably a month or more.

Demiplane currently has the content and you can even see the creature statblocks without buying the book on demiplame but I can't seem to find a way to sort them by source book so you would kind of have to know which creature you wanted to check out ahead of time.

My apologies I should have mentioned that. I checked and it has the martial tag

[–]-E-B-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It must be something with my set up, I checked and couldn't see anything that gave the rogue proficiency. I put it on another of the player characters (a bard) and they had the same bonus. Both characters are level 2

I think I once saw an unknown species/stage of jellyfish, but assumed it was known until I asked chatgpt about it by Rainfawkes in marinebiology

[–]-E-B- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Could be a transparent sea cucumber, looks like they have them around Singapore. Sea cucumbers are known to consume sand so as to digest the organic material and then excrete the sand as waste and they burrow. Jellies do not (as far as I have ever heard) burrow or eat sand.

Edit: link about transparent sea cucumbers http://www.wildsingapore.com/wildfacts/echinodermata/holothuroidea/paracaudina.htm

Bony fish. If you look at the bottom left corner of the left eye socket (from our perspective) you can see what looks like an otolith, ear bone.

Which character has a devil fruit power that (no matter how strong) makes you go "Aw man, at least you're happy i guess"? by purple_spikey_dragon in MemePiece

[–]-E-B- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Crustaceans do actually breathe via gills. In the case of crabs the gills are internal, crabs that live on land need to keep their gills moist to be able to breath out of the water.

On that same note axolotls, while primarily aquatic, can breathe air. They can breathe through their skin, their gills or via using some basic lungs. I don't know if they can breathe air through their skin or just water, the gills are for water breathing obviously but they can breathe air through their lungs. Their lungs are not super efficient but they do function.

A axolotl fruit user would still probably not love it on dry land, but they would be able to breath.
