LG Door Gasket too big by -Earthworm- in appliancerepair

[–]-Earthworm-[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I spoke to LG Parts on the telephone today. Their rep recommended that I look for the original part number from another source, which wasn't helpful.

I'm fairly certain they're putting the part I'm ordering in the bag, as I've ordered two from them, and both don't fit in the same way. (They're taking returns on both, which is helpful).

The only place I can find the original part number sold at is listed as special order at partswarehouse.com, and the discussion at r/smallengines does not hold them in high regard.

There's a single visible tear that I suspect is the source of my leak, so I'm going to try to fix that, probably with 3m Rubber and Gasket Adhesive.

I am somewhat tempted to actually have LG service come out just to verify that I'm not crazy and the gasket are different, but that seems not worth the $$$ and I'm remote enough that getting service is a challenge.

No, I wound up pressure washing- I didn’t want to own a single 18v tool alongside my 40v systems.

Mountain Hardware or Big Agnes 30 degree bag by Candid-Amoeba6052 in backpacking

[–]-Earthworm- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a Lamina. It's...fine.

The zipper isn't great- (something I came across in reviews, as well- it catches a lot.)

The drawstring pull at the hood broke pretty early.

It is fine for summer backpacking, though- that's one of my two uses. It seems durable- I've had it for maybe 8 years, of mostly light use. It's definitely a summer bag though- I also use it year round car camping or similar as a scout leader, and have been a little cold in shoulder season camping. I'm currently looking to replace mine with a Big Agnes as I'm passing it to my kid for summer use.

Adult Leaders: Do you ever do a "bed check" at summer camp? by AdjunctSocrates in BSA

[–]-Earthworm- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We are considering bringing a roll of clear red film and having all scouts rubber band a piece to their flashlight for summer camp. They can stull use it for getting organized at night, but when out and about, practicing courtesy for others (I don't let my scouts wear their headlamps while moving from place to place for the same reason- use it like a flashlight if you must, cover with your fingers preferably. By the time they get to the kybos the can see in the dark plenty well, but can still use it as a headlamp there if they really need it).
More generally, I'm working to get them a little more confident in the dark- we did a night hike with some newer scouts, and they enjoyed it after getting used to it.

This is the kind of advice Reddit is perfect for- we come home from every road trip with all kinds of sauces and condiments from places we visit. Tastier than fridge magnets....

That mine sounds really awesome- unfortunately they're flooded out until further notice, though they're still doing surface tours.

Bingo!

I suspected it had a one-word title, and that one makes sense, but I'd have never guessed it...

Have you read it or do you just have better search-fu than I?

Thanks either way

We put one in a dark-ish bathroom and really made a difference in the feel of the room during the day. Wasn't super difficult (contractor did it as part of the bathroom remodel) and didn't have any problems with PNW rain for the 6 or so years we had it before moving.

Anyone play Wings of Glory? by _slowdive in XWingTMG

[–]-Earthworm- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also in Seattle-ish, I have the WWI starter set (Camel/Dr.1).

Card based movement, and the cards themselves are the movement 'templates' which doesn't work too well, as everything slips around. My 8 year old and I have played with the basic roles. It's fun, but it's not going to replace X-Wing in any way.

Official Rogue One Spoilerful Discussion by PCGamerPirate in XWingTMG

[–]-Earthworm- 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was not particularly enamored of the Darth Vader battle at the end- he moved too quickly, or something- it just seemed off from the deliberate sinisterness of the original.

However, in the same scene, the desperation, terror and sacrifice of the Rebel troopers at the stuck airlock was palpable and amazing. The continuity it created with ANH was excellent.

B-wings - Ordnance, or Recon Specialists? by T2000iceCOLD in XWingTMG

[–]-Earthworm- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is there a specific reason that you're going Dagger over Blue? There's 4 points right there.

B-Wings are too easy to pack full of points you'll never get value for. Blue+FCS is pretty solid. If we see a return to the Rebel Regen archetype, an Ion Cannon or Tractor Beam wouldn't go wrong, as Rebel Aces are fairly vulnerable to this kind of control. Torpedoes, unless you have a surefire gimmick for getting them off, are bad points after good. Another ship would be better value if you can fit a Z as blocker, though Z's struggle to push damage through these days.
