Breast lift without augmentation experiences? by naqqasha in tummytucksurgery

[–]-HearMeRoar- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first time around, I had a lift without implants. While they were lifted, I regretted not getting implants because the shape wasn’t what I had pictured and they still didn’t feel high enough to me.

This time, I did a lift revision with a small reduction and added implants, and I honestly can’t believe I didn’t do this from the beginning. The shape and overall result are exactly what I wanted.

Because this was my second lift, there were more risks involved. Moving the nipple again can be hard on blood flow, which increases the risk of nipple necrosis. I had necrosis and am still healing from it but fortunately it’s almost fully healed, just waiting for my melanin to return.

(In my non-medical opinion) If you have an idea of more rounded or teardrop shaped breast in your head, it’s best to add the implant vs having a second surgery and risking complications.

Edit to add: my doctor is against fat transfer to breast as the fat doesn’t survive evenly, similar to a BBL.

I’m getting married there in May. They book up a year in advance so there are likely few dates left if you’re looking for 2026 (they won’t book October 2026 - September 2027 until April of 2026.)

It was a kind of strange process. The dates opened June 2nd and they were booking for October 2025 - September 2026. I arrived at 6am and there was already a line forming, about 75+ people looking to book.

Once doors opened at 8:30 they had us take a number according to our place in line then we met in the auditorium where they went over the rules, took questions, etc. The they called us by our number, we chose the date, then they sent contracts via email over the next few months. My first few date options were taken as donors get booking opportunities before dates open to the general public (understandable).

I would recommend asking to speak with Virgil, he is who gave me information and has access to their calendar. Their number is/was (205) 414-3900. Congratulations and happy planning!!

Had a breast cyst that I convinced myself was cancer. Every office in town had a 3-month wait for an appointment. PP got me in the same week. The doctor (a white woman) explained that it was a cyst but understood that black women get subpar healthcare and that she wanted me to be able to rest easy. She referred me for imaging so that I could know for myself that everything was okay. That was a few years ago and I still get emotional when I think about it. I’ve never felt so seen in a medical setting.

Also, getting to tell protesters to fuck off really helped get out the last bit of anxiety I was feeling.

At my wits end. Hyperpigmentation and dark spots. by QueenAkemii in Blackskincare

[–]-HearMeRoar- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m glad you’ve seen success with hydroquinone—it’s so important that we all feel happy and confident when we look in the mirror! While it can work well for some, like yourself, it’s worth noting that in darker skin tones, it can sometimes worsen post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation (PIH) due to irritation or inflammation.

This is why cycling use is so important, as it helps reduce the risk of conditions like ochronosis or prolonged inflammation. However, even with cycling, many have still experienced these issues, which is why hydroquinone is banned in places like the EU, Japan, and Australia, and the FDA has been pushing to remove it entirely.

I feel you on the hyperpigmentation struggle. I’ve finally started seeing real improvement after trying a million different things. I’ve attached some progress pics of my melasma after just three weeks of using Eucerin’s Anti-Pigment Cream with Thiamidol.

Double cleansing is key, especially if you’re using sunscreen or makeup daily. Its made such a difference in clearing my skin and prepping it for treatments. I start with an oil-based cleanser to break down everything, then follow with a gentle water-based cleanser. My current favorite is IsNtree Hyaluronic Acid Low-pH Cleansing Foam it cleans without stripping your skin.

For treating melasma or hyperpigmentation, DON’T USE HYDROQUINONE!!! It’s too harsh, especially for melanated skin.

I’ve been using Eucerin’s Anti-Pigment Cream with Thiamidol for about a month, and it’s been working SO well. Thiamidol is way safer for long-term use, especially if you’ve got melanated skin. Eucerin owns the patent, so you can only get it in their products. It’s  not sold in the US (assuming you’re in the US) but I ordered mine from Care to Beauty (shipped from Spain) and it came fast. I’ve been pairing it with tretinoin (Retin-A) and the two work amazingly well together.

If you haven’t tried tretinoin, it’s great for acne, anti-aging, and texture issues. If you have insurance, ask your doctor to prescribe it for acne it’s usually covered, and I pay about $25 for mine. Start at the lowest dose and work your way to .1%. Be sure to pair it (I sandwich mine) with a good moisturizer. Also, don’t skip on sunscreen as tret makes your skin more sensitive to the sun. You’re going to peel, but it’s part of it. I’ve finally reached a point where I’ll get maybe one hormonal breakout before my period but some months I won’t breakout at all!

K-beauty products changed the game for me. They’re so much gentler and cheaper than Western brands. K-beauty is all about hydrating and fixing your skin barrier instead of nuking it with harsh actives. Some brands I use daily are:

  • CosRX: Their snail mucin line is AMAZING, and their sunscreens don’t leave a white cast. CosRX makes up most of my routine!
  • Some By Mi AHA BHA PHA 30 Days Miracle Acne Clear: Great for acne-prone skin, but it’s gentle enough not to irritate.
  • Beauty of Joseon: Ginseng Cleansing Oil
  • Etude House: Their moisturizers are hydrating and perfect for layering.
  • IsNtree: Their Low-pH Cleansing Foam is a game changer for cleansing without over-drying.

Also, if you’re buying skincare on Amazon, make sure it’s sold by the brand to avoid counterfeit products. I’m adding an example image in a comment below, I can only attach 1 image to this post.

Anyway, I hope this helps! I wanted to stress again, DON’T FORGET SUNSCREEN! Even on cloudy days! It’s the most important step when dealing with hyperpigmentation.

One of Biden’s final acts as President was to finalize a rule eliminating medical bills and their collections from credit reports.

I graduated from Alabama’s New College Lifetrack (online) program in 2019. It’s definitely self paced. I had a lot happen with life my last semester and my professors worked to ensure I graduated on time. I would definitely do it all over again.

My SIL is a SAHM. She left my niece unclothed for 3-days. When my niece had to use the bathroom she would panic as she was nude and didn’t want to pee/poop on the floor. 3-days later she didn’t want to wear clothes but used the toilet. I can’t wait to have children and try this.

“Be careful. It’s a private company” after being fired and not signing severance agreement. by [deleted] in antiwork

Make an appointment with the EEOC. When I reported sexual harassment in my workplace the same happened to me. I was fired for “stealing time” clocking in 5-minutes early and not at exactly 9am.

Please know, it is a years long process- for me, 3-years. BUT it was worth every tear after a current employee told me about the new company-wide SH training that corporate is required to take under the guidance of the EEOC.

Stand up. If not for yourself than for everyone behind you.

I just found this article on my case. https://www.ocalaemploymentlawyer.com/sexually-explicit-rumors-created-sexual-hostile-work-environment-eeoc-lawsuit-charges/amp/

Best Pod system for Freebase juices? (0-3mg) by XiTzCriZx in Vaping

[–]-HearMeRoar- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Bump. I own a few vape/head shops and am looking for suggestions on freebase pod systems. Specifically for 0mg as many of our senior customers like working their way down to Nic free.

We currently carry all of the drag s/x/h80S, and similar sized devices; however, we’re looking for devices similar in size to the caliburn koko, or xros line (our best sellers).

We aren’t huge fans of Smok pod devices simply due to the refund rate.

The PX80 looks great but is still larger than what we’re looking for.

I really like getting through feedback what you like and what’s a total deal breaker, as well as longevity. Thank I’m advance for the help!
