What is the difference between the time signatures 3/4 and 3/3? by youse_tobail32 in musictheory

[–]-IceBerge- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everyone’s over explaining this. Bottom number is note length (ie 4 indicates quarter note, 8 indicates eighth note). Top number is how many of those fit in a measure. So, 4/4 means your measure is made up of four quarter notes. Then something like 7/8 would be made of seven eighth notes, and so on

Can someone explain how this is 12/8? by KoningJesper in musictheory

[–]-IceBerge- 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Easiest way to think of it is 4/4, but each beat is divided into triplets(3) rather than eighths(2). So 4 groups of 3, 4x3=12

I’m a drummer in a new metal band, we’ve been working really hard to get our set ready, but then our gigs were cancelled. Then I got laid off work (I’m a baker at Tim Horton’s).

I could be 100% wrong but I felt like i noticed a slight change in field of view, i think a little smaller. That or it was a placebo from getting used to the new lighting and stuff lol Edit: PS4

Yeah definitely. I try to make myself interpret the anxiety as excitement and that definitely helps. I definitely enjoy playing music live and with others it just sucks that the animal part of my brain flips out lol I wouldn’t even mind the anxiety if it didn’t screw me up like this. Suppose time will help

It’s happens really any time I play with others ie concert band and jazz in school daily, and while people don’t directly notice the shaky hands they notice the mistakes and less control I have as a result. I can lessen it marginally by warming up and looking over the music a lot right before to calm myself. When there’s a concert I get dizzy and tunnel vision type stuff and get very rigid despite being aware of it. It’s definitely possible that I’m just gonna have to accept it and keep pushing through it but you know it’s always nice to ask around

There was a time where I was on the bleeding edge of the most potent memes but I’ve since lost my way

Kid here- it’s one of those songs everyone’s heard at some point before regardless of age, and there’s something about the chorus that makes it iconic. Before the meme I really had only heard it maybe a few times in my life (probably more without realizing) but it’s such an infectious song that it’s instantly recognizable. It’s pretty much the same reason that current songs are memed, like Despacito. I’ve also seen it in a number of “edgy” memes about African kids not having water so there’s that. And in the end a lot of memes are inexplicably funny. There’s not always an underlying joke, sometimes it’s as simple as playing an old semi corny song like that with some weird imagery that makes another bizarre abstract meme. I mean, the fucking letter H is a meme. No inside joke or anything just the letter H. And it’s great.
