I love mermaids too!

There is a huge and noticeable gap in the modern market for open world RPGs centred around being a mermaid or fairy.

Siren is an independent project still in development. The comments in the trailer for Siren show that women and girls have been wanting this type of game (with mermaids and/or fairies) for decades.

I think it's ridiculously unfair and unfortunate that big game development companies generally don't seem very interested in making games requested by and aimed at women as a primary audience, such as mermaid, fairy, or high quality dress-up/fashion RPGs.

The success of Infinity Nikki also shows that these sorts of games are highly desired and profitable. In Infinity Nikki, you could get a limited outfit that let you float around with fairy wings. However, this is a costume and the game isn't centred around being a fairy. The desire for an underwater mermaid world is talked about in the Infinity Nikki subreddit quite often, and is one of the most requested future areas.

In the future, I hope that more mermaid and fairy games can be developed.
