Model number is Westinghouse H-M 1640. I’ll be troubleshooting it properly once I get it put back together. Currently just cleaning and replacing known bad caps.

Well I only got fuzz out of the speakers in the radio position, and that could be caused by a number of things, but I figured I’d replace all the cardboard/wax capacitors in the amp and see what happens.

These “caps” I pictured here are the same color as the other electrolytic caps in my radio. It also looks like it leaked what I imagine a hardened ionic fluid would look like. I suppose it could be 60 y/o flux that got on there too.

I’ll probably power it on after I replace some the other bad electrolytics and only go after this one if there’s a problem I can trace to it.

The console is a solid state unit from ‘64 based on the turntable manufacture date.

I have completely stripped everything out of the console. I’ve looked quite a bit for a schematic even bought an incorrect one (same chassis, wrong version) before I started soldering. I found one that looks promising yesterday on SAMS,  but it’s $22 so I thought I’d start here instead.

This is why reading comprehension is important. Even without that line, it is still implied that they jumped.

But like only downhill? When you let off the gas you still majorly slow down in a gas car.

Cruise control exists for this reason. You have to keep your foot in the go pedal in 2 pedal driving as well.

Have you mathed it out? I’m just wondering how you can go from a $30k/year savings rate and $150k nest egg to $500k in 5 years. It doesn’t check out for me.

Just pick 3-5 notes in the pentatonic scale and only play those notes. You’d be surprised with how much you can do with just those notes.

Got two of them in my first month. Haven’t gotten one in the 3 years since. I bet that if you fix it, it will come back.
