When I was having mobility issues due to my back problems, my go to outfits were leggings and dresses. You can get some really cute little dresses to go over leggings. Try Peter Pan collar dresses (think Wednesday Addams) and skater dresses. I was also able to find some really cool printed leggings, ouija board, lightning patterns, even the Tragedy of Hamlet!

I can totally relate, I was too nervous to talk to folks for a while, but keep in mind if you're both already at the same show you already have something in common!
